He was a Korean who single-handedly saved the Red Army and returned to his country in a very high position

The History Inn yesterday introduced General Qiu Chuangcheng, the first political commissar of the Artillery Regiment of the Eighth Route Army. So, who was the first commander of the Artillery Regiment? It is the Martial Pavilion that I want to introduce today.

In fact, in addition to the identity of the commander of the Artillery Regiment of the Eighth Route Army, Wu Ting's other identity is more important, that is, the second leader of the early North Korea, who served as the commander of the artillery of the Korean People's Army.

Today, however, we will not talk about Wu Ting's achievements in Korea, but see how he saved the Red Army.

He was a Korean who single-handedly saved the Red Army and returned to his country in a very high position

Not surprisingly, although Wu Ting is a Korean, he spent most of his revolutionary career in China, and he joined our party in 1925, dedicating half his life to the Chinese revolution.

Wu Ting was first promoted to lieutenant colonel of artillery in the warlord's unit, but because he was not accustomed to the style of the warlord, he resolutely turned to join the ranks of the Red Army, starting from the most basic level, successively serving as a squad leader, a company commander, a battalion commander, and a regimental commander, and after the failure of the fifth anti-encirclement and suppression operation, he participated in the Long March as the commander of the artillery battalion of the Third Red Army.

After breaking through the Xiangjiang defense line, the Central Column of the Red Army was immediately surrounded and blocked by Li Zongren's troops, and the Red Army, which had already suffered heavy casualties, in order to cover the smooth retreat of the Central Column, could only grit its teeth and drag the enemy to death, and Wuting received the order, that is, "Even if there is a soldier left, it is necessary to buy time for the Central Red Army"!

In fact, Wu Ting and the artillery under his leadership did play an important role, and it was precisely by relying on the cover of the artillery battalion that the Red Army was able to smoothly take positions such as Loushan Pass, thus stabilizing the war situation and trying to ensure the strategic transfer of the Central Red Army.

The most thrilling time in Wuting was to save the Red Army single-handedly in June 1935.

At that time, during the difficult period of internal and external difficulties of the Central Red Army, Zhang Guotao, who was extremely ambitious, privately ordered the confiscation of all codebooks in an attempt to completely cut off the direct ties between the central authorities and the armies. When General Manager Peng discovered this situation, he immediately ordered the Red Third Army to reorganize the codebook and send someone to send the new codebook to the commander of the Red First Army, Lin Zong.

So, who to send? After all, this is related to whether the Red First and Red Third Armies can join forces in time to smash Zhang Guotao's plot, and once it fails, the fate of the Red Army may even be subverted. After careful consideration, Mr. Peng finally chose Wuting.

Moreover, in order to avoid arousing Zhang Guotao's vigilance, Wu Ting could only carry the radio and codebook alone, relying on a compass to guide the way, to find the Red First Army.

Along the way, Wuting dressed up in disguise, wind and food camped out, almost can be said to be non-stop! On the same day that Wuting arrived at the red first army station, Zhang Guotao officially secretly ordered a large-scale struggle, and at the moment of the first attack, the chairman relied on the codebook sent by Wuting to contact the red first army commanded by Lin Zong in time, thus commanding the red first army and the red third army to meet in the Russian border of Gansu and smash this conspiracy in one fell swoop!

It is hard to imagine what useful consequences the Red Army would have had if Wuting had not arrived in time, or had retreated in fear of difficulties on the way! Therefore, it is not unreasonable to say that Wuting saved the Red Army from a time of crisis.

In the period of the All-out War of Resistance, Wu Ting was appointed as the commander of the Artillery Regiment of the Eighth Route Army, making outstanding contributions to the development of the artillery units of our army.

It was not until the end of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression in 1945 that Wu Ting returned to Korea after more than 20 years of absence, serving as the commander of the artillery of the Korean People's Army, the commander of the Second Army, and other positions, and also led the troops to participate in the Korean War.

But unfortunately, in 1952, Wu Ting relapsed due to old injuries and unfortunately died at the age of 47.
