Shanghai Jinshan has created a new brand of urban youth work in the Bay Area

Few personnel, few funds, and great difficulty in coordinating other departments – this was once a practical problem faced by the Regiment organization in Jinshan District, Shanghai.

Since being selected as a national pilot for the medium-term youth development plan, Jinshan District has added in terms of work strength, policy resources and service projects, relying on the "Shanghai Bay Area" city brand, the location advantage of the Bridgehead in the Yangtze River Delta and the industrial advantage of the Rural Revitalization Pilot Zone, to promote the pilot work at a steady pace.

Working mechanism changed from "one-man show" to "big chorus"

In promoting the pilot work, Jinshan District strives to turn the "one-man show" into a "chorus", relying on the mechanism of the joint conference on youth work, forming a working mechanism of linkage between the upper and lower levels, left and right coordination, and internal and external interaction.

In addition to cooperation with various departments in the district, the Jinshan District Committee of the Youth League also pays attention to the linkage of work with adjacent areas of other provinces and cities, takes the lead in establishing a linkage operation mechanism for youth work in the Yangtze River Delta, and strengthens the overall planning of daily co-construction work in adjacent areas in adjacent areas.

Talent training from "fragmentation" to "whole chain"

In terms of youth employment and entrepreneurship support, the Organization Department of the District Committee, the District Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, the District Agricultural Committee, the Youth League District Committee and other units have built employment and entrepreneurship platforms for young people by carrying out projects such as the "Reserve Talent Plan", the Employment and Entrepreneurship Activity Week for College Graduates, and the "I Plant Scenery for the Countryside" Yangtze River Delta Youth Rural Revitalization Design Competition.

"How to make the countryside really beautiful and bright?" More fresh blood is needed. From 2019 to 2021, the "I Plant Landscapes for the Countryside" Yangtze River Delta Youth Rural Revitalization Design Competition was held for 3 years, for the Yangtze River Delta region of colleges and universities art design, urban planning, architectural design and other related majors of students and young designers began to recruit, with jinshan district rural space and local products as the design content, more than 500 teams from all over the country signed up to participate in the competition, 40 works were rated as excellent works. Jinshan District opened 29 primary school students' love summer nursery classes this year, solved the problem of child care difficulties for young parents of dual-career workers in the summer, and formed a "five-color course" with district-level characteristics, serving a total of 1686 person-times; in addition, it built platforms such as "Jinshan District Minors Mental Health Counseling Center", "School Psychological Counseling Room", and Community "Confidant Station", and received a total of 1145 consultations.
