For Chen Fang'ansheng, i think everyone has heard of it. But dear reader, do you know? Chen Fang'ansheng's grandfather was General Fang Zhenwu, a famous anti-Japanese hero during the Republic of China period.

That's right, Chen Fang Ansheng is a famous person!

So, why is Chen Fang's surname Chen and not Fang's surname?

In fact, before marrying the later Hong Kong Auxiliary Police Inspector Chen Dirong, she was called Fang Ansheng, according to Hong Kong customs, women should be given the surname of their husbands before their names after marriage, so she became Chen Fang Ansheng.

Chen Fang Ansheng, a native of Huainan, and his grandfather Fang Zhenwu disobeyed Chiang Kai-shek's oath to die to resist Japan, what was the fate?

Chen Fang'ansheng's grandfather, Fang Zhenwu, was born in 1885 in Shou County, Anhui Province, and entered the Anhui Wubei Academy in 1905 to study military affairs.

When the Xinhai Revolution broke out, Fang Zhenwu responded positively, participated in the Battle to restore Nanjing, and later, participated in the second revolution led by Sun Yat-sen against Yuan Shikai's dictatorship, and many other revolutionary activities. After Sun Yat-sen's death in 1925, Fang Zhenwu served under Feng Yuxiang as the commander of the Fifth Army of the Nationalist Army.

Many people do not know that Feng Yuxiang's Nationalist Army was ostensibly under the leadership of Chiang Kai-shek, but in fact accepted Soviet funding and did not obey Chiang Kai-shek's orders.

In 1931, Japan launched the "918 Incident" to annex China's three eastern provinces, and Chiang Kai-shek pursued the strategy of "outside the country must first be at home" and passively resisted Japan.

Chiang Kai-shek's passive resistance to Japan was obviously unfavorable to the Soviet Union. The Soviet side contacted Feng Yuxiang to provide him with firearms and encouraged Feng Yuxiang to ignore Chiang Kai-shek and carry out anti-Japanese activities alone.

With the support of the Soviet Union and the inspiration of the patriotic people at home, on May 26, 1933, Feng Yuxiang established the Chahar People's Anti-Japanese Allied Army.

On May 28, Fang Zhenwu responded by telegram and was appointed deputy commander-in-chief of the Anti-Japanese Allied Forces.

After the establishment of the Chahar People's Anti-Japanese Allied Army, it grew rapidly and became an important anti-Japanese force with 120,000 people and 100,000 guns. Feng Yuxiang and Fang Zhenwu organized many battles, and finally expelled all the Japanese puppet troops from Chahar Province.

The most famous of these was the Battle of Doron. In Chiang Kai-shek's view, the Chahar Anti-Japanese Allied Forces acted arbitrarily and accepted the support of the Soviet Union, which was really rebellious, and regarded it as a thorn in the flesh of the eye, and it must be eliminated quickly.

On July 5, Chiang Kai-shek reached a tacit understanding with the Japanese army and jointly attacked the anti-Japanese allied forces.

Faced with this critical situation, Fang Zhenwu made a meticulous layout and ingenious plan, and after the heroic and bloody battle of all officers and men, he severely damaged the Japanese puppet army and recaptured Duolun.

The Battle of Duolun wrote a glorious page for the Chinese people's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, and was the first time that the Japanese army suffered a major blow after the September 18 Incident, which inspired the anti-Japanese spirit of the Chinese people.

Chiang Kai-shek was very jealous that the strength of the anti-Japanese allies would increase and would sabotage his overall plan, so he ordered He Yingqin to command 16 divisions with about 150,000 troops to attack the Chahar People's Anti-Japanese Allied Army on a large scale.

In early October, Feng Yuxiang and Fang Zhenwu's anti-Japanese allied forces fell under siege, surrounded by Chiang Kai-shek's army in the east, west, and south, and surrounded by Japanese troops in the north, and the situation was extremely critical.

To make matters worse, because of complicated factors, the Soviet Union suddenly cut off supplies for Feng Yuxiang.

At the same time, Chiang Kai-shek bribed and divided the Chahar people's anti-Japanese allied forces through various means, causing Fang Zhenwu to defect to Chiang Kai-shek with 8 divisions and two brigades.

Faced with the pressure of Chiang Kai-shek, the Soviet Union, and the Japanese puppet army, Feng Yuxiang felt very desperate. On August 5 of that year, Feng Yuxiang announced the dissolution of the Chahar People's Anti-Japanese Allied Army, leaving Chahar and running to live in seclusion on Mount Tai.

Fang Zhenwu resolutely did not yield to Chiang Kai-shek, appointed himself acting commander-in-chief of the Chahar Anti-Japanese Allied Army, and continued to fight under the banner of "anti-Japanese and anti-Chiang."

Under the siege of He Yingqin's hundreds of thousands of troops, this anti-Japanese army was finally defeated.

After Fang Zhenwu was dispersed, he was lucky to escape, and then went into exile in Hong Kong.

Chen Fang Ansheng, a native of Huainan, and his grandfather Fang Zhenwu disobeyed Chiang Kai-shek's oath to die to resist Japan, what was the fate?

Chen Fang's father, Fang Xinxuan, and his mother, Fang Zhaolin

On January 17, 1940, Fang Zhenwu's eldest son, Fang Xinxuan, was born in Shanghai.

On December 8, 1941, Japan attacked Hong Kong and Hong Kong fell.

Faced with the national crisis, Fang Zhenwu, who was lurking in Hong Kong, was determined to return to the interior to participate in the anti-Japanese struggle, so he returned to Guangdong from Yuen Long. In Zhongshan County, Fang Zhenwu was unfortunately trapped by Dai Kasa's secret service. Under Chiang Kai-shek's secret orders, Fang Zhenwu was soon assassinated.

Fang Zhenwu, a famous anti-Japanese general who was in the limelight, was not rewarded for his ambitions, but he was tragically killed, which was indeed a great loss to the Chinese nation.

Fang Zhenwu is worried about the world, sacrificing his life for the country, and flowing through the ages! I hope that every descendant of Yanhuang can truly love our country and make the land for which the martyrs shed blood and sacrifice be happy and healthy!
