Wenchang Jinshan beef jerky to "leisure snacks" transformation is looking forward to the whole country

People's Daily Wenchang, September 6 (Niu Liangyu) "Our factory took the lead in using small packaging when producing, and we hope that Jinshan beef jerky is not only a tourism specialty, but also a leisure snack that everyone often consumes every day." On August 25, workers were bagging small bags of beef jerky in the Nanji beef jerky factory in Jinshan Town, Wenchang City.

"Our brand has been in existence for more than two years, and one of the founders is one of the six generations of Jinshan beef jerky." Su Xiaoye Supply Chain Management (Hainan) Co., Ltd. General Manager Su Shi introduced that its company brand Yu Nanji was founded in 2018, after development, the current products have been sold in thousands of stores across the island, the main "leisure snacks" brand, currently planned to promote to the national market.

Walking in the factory of Nanji, the beef being stir-fried is full of fresh flavor, and the freshly produced beef jerky is sent to the packaging workshop and laboratory on the second floor for further processing, and product samples, sterilization equipment, and automated packaging equipment are readily available. The unremitting exploration and innovation of products and more standardized production standards have made Su Shi's project "Hainan Characteristic Beef Jerky Food Processing Industrialization Project" stand out in the rural revitalization group of the 2021 Hainan Free Trade Port Entrepreneurship Competition (Provincial Competition) and win the "second prize".

It is understood that Jinshan beef jerky is a snack with full color and flavor, named after Jinshan Town in Wenchang, Hainan, and the November 2000 edition of the "Wenchang County Chronicle" records: In the early years of the Republic of China, there were several beef jerky shops in Jinshan Market, the most famous of which were Dongzhai Er, Luo Dou Hong, Rice Xing, Hengxing and so on. After several years of development, there are currently 10 beef jerky companies in operation, of which ZhangXiong, Nanji, Dongzhai Er, Yamei and other beef jerky brands have formed a certain scale and influence.

"Our beef jerky was originally nameless until my father, Zhang Xiong, took over, hoping that everyone would remember him. I returned home after a few years of working after graduating from college, determined to make our beef jerky bigger and stronger. Zhang Zongren, head of Hainan Wenchang Guangheng Food Co., Ltd., introduced that Zhangxiong beef jerky originated in 1913 and is now a household name in Wenchang and has become a business card of Wenchang cuisine. At the same time, Zhang Xiong beef jerky also actively makes good use of policies to brand coverage to more domestic markets with small bags of snack products that are convenient to eat.

"The name of Dongzhai No. 2 has a history, and it can be seen in the records of beef jerky in the Wenchang County Chronicle that Dongzhai No. 2 existed as early as the early years of the Republic of China." Li Changguan, head of Dongzhai Er beef jerky, said that for several years, the brand has been excavating the culture of Wenchang beef jerky, while ensuring the quality of products, telling the story of Jinshan beef jerky, so that people all over the country can taste Jinshan beef jerky.

"As far as I know, beef jerky is currently at the top of the leisure snack market, which is not a small cake." Su Shi believes that the development of Jinshan beef jerky also needs the government to further strengthen its support, organize local beef jerky production enterprises to carry out a series of online live broadcasts, cultural tourism publicity and other activities, and build Jinshan beef jerky into a landmark product in Hainan and even the national leisure snack and tourism market.
