The author of the book, Wang Ruixia, is a professor, doctoral supervisor, and dean of the Rural Revitalization Creative Design Research Institute of Nanjing Forestry University. "I was born and raised in Gangnam and have a deep affection for this land." Wang Ruixia said. Due to the nature and scope of her work, she has conducted research and inspections in many townships in the Jiangnan area for a long time. "Many times we take it for granted that the countryside should remain pristine and refuse the intrusion of all elements of modernization, but at the same time, we ourselves are fully enjoying the dividends of modernization in the city." In her research, through the reconstruction of landscape situations based on cultural memory, she proposes to condense the universal nostalgia emotions of the whole people into a cultural driving force to promote the sustainable development of contemporary villages and towns, so as to deal with the balanced relationship between village and town protection and rural construction development. Recently, the study was successfully concluded with the "excellent" grade, and the research results were collected and published as "From Nostalgia to Rural Construction: Cultural Memory and Landscape Design of Jiangnan Villages and Towns". The achievements have certain academic support and practical reference value for the current comprehensive implementation of village and town construction and rural revitalization in Jiangnan and even the whole country.

At the press conference, Wang Hao, president of Nanjing Forestry University, said that Professor Wang Ruixia's latest masterpiece is the fruit of the cross-integration of multiple characteristic and advantageous disciplines of the school, with realistic theoretical thinking and open research vision, reflecting the family and country feelings and mission of scholars in the field of humanities and social sciences in Nanlin.

In 2021, a total of 242 art projects of the National Social Science Foundation were completed, and only 9 projects obtained the "excellent" level, and Professor Wang Ruixia's excellent grade was not easy to come by. Qiu Yihong, director of the National Art Science Planning Project Management Center, pointed out that increasing the publicity of outstanding achievements is the focus of the art project management work of the National Social Science Fund at present and in the future.

Participating experts and scholars believe that this is the current field of design on the hot topic of rural revitalization at the theoretical and practical levels of thinking, not only expands the development of design disciplines under the perspective of "new liberal arts", but also provides valuable enlightenment for design to empower rural revitalization and build a national top-level design strategy for beautiful China, which has positive guiding significance for the current national strategy and think tank research.
