Because of its bravery during the Second Campaign, the 38th Army was hand-picked by General Peng as the "Long Live Army", which was an honor that no other fraternal unit of the Volunteer Army had ever had. In fact, the backbone of the army is the foundation of The Pingjiang Uprising of Peng Laozong, and no matter the history, strength or the expectations of Zhisi, the 38th Army is the first-class main force of the volunteer army. This traitor was not of high rank, but was only a grassroots cadre at the deputy platoon level, named Yan Zhongjiao. However, this person leaked important military secrets of our army during the defection, which directly led to the 38th Army's casualties in the Battle of White Horse Mountain in 1952, which can be said to be a major blow. After comprehensive analysis, the United States and the ROK decided to accept the information sent by Tanaka Jiao and temporarily detain him to ensure his life.
Because the 38th Army's battle plan was exposed, the ROK 9th Division had prepared before the war, resulting in the failure of our army's operation, with more than 6,700 casualties, which is an extremely rare loss in the record of the confrontation with the ROK army. Yan Zhongjiao leaked the deployment positions and main attack directions of the regiments and battalions of the 38th Army to the enemy early on, and the ROK machine gun positions and barbed wire were arranged very well, causing heavy casualties to the 38th Army.
