Yang Yang, Chairman of the Athletes Committee of the Beijing Winter Olympics Organizing Committee——

Careful guarantee Dedicated service

Preparations for the Beijing Winter Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games have entered the final sprint stage, and Yang Yang's daily schedule is full. "We will create the best competition environment for athletes and hope they have a good time." Yang Yang's bright eyes were full of expectation.

I used to be an athlete, so I understand the needs of athletes the most. At the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics, Yang Yang won the short track speed skating women's 500 meters and 1000 meters in succession, achieving a "zero breakthrough" in the Chinese Winter Olympic gold medal.

Yang Yang, who stepped off the field, insisted on "speaking out from Chinese athletes". During her eight years as a member of the International Olympic Committee, she has always kept the rights and interests of athletes at heart.

After the success of Beijing's bid for the Winter Olympics, Yang Yang served as the chairman of the Athletes' Committee of the Beijing Winter Olympics Organizing Committee. "Starting from our personal experiences and feelings, we offer suggestions and suggestions for the preparation of the Winter Olympics, adhere to the athlete-centered approach, and fully protect the needs and rights and interests of athletes." From the design of the Beijing-Zhang high-speed railway, the Winter Olympic Village, the competition venue, etc., to the athletes' menu providing gluten-free food, the figure skating field to prepare sewing kits... The recommendations made by the Athletes' Committee cover a wide range of aspects.

Personally experiencing the whole process of bidding and preparation, Yang Yang felt the most deeply that the ice and snow projects have flourished in recent years. When the 2015 Winter Olympics bid was successful, about 1/3 of the Olympic ice and snow events in China were not carried out. Today, Chinese ice and snow athletes are sprinting towards the goal of participating in all projects.

"In terms of competitive sports, we have cultivated more ice and snow sports talents through cross-border cross-sports selection and other ways; in mass sports, more and more people are on the ice and snow and enjoy the joy of ice and snow sports." The vision of bringing 300 million people to participate in ice and snow sports has been realized step by step. As an Iceman, these changes make her incredibly proud.

"Together to the future" is the theme slogan of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games and the Winter Paralympic Games, and it is also the common voice of the whole world. The world is looking forward to China, and China is ready to dedicate an Olympic event to the world wholeheartedly.

The Winter Olympics are approaching, and Yang Yang sends out a warm invitation to athletes from all over the world. "Let's meet in Beijing and once again ignite the world with Olympic passion." Through high-level competitive competitions, let the charm of ice and snow sports infect and inspire people, and attract more people to participate in and love ice and snow sports. Yang Yang said sincerely, "We will do our best to leave athletes with unforgettable memories of the Winter Olympics with professional work and careful service." ”

Figure skaters Sui Wenjing and Han Cong——

No distractions, go all out

Time into 2022, for Sui Wenjing, Han Cong, the stage of dreams is close at hand. Attending the Winter Olympics at their doorstep, they are full of expectations and pride, "I hope to start a new chapter in their careers at the Beijing Winter Olympics!"

As the leaders of the Chinese figure skating team, Sui Wenjing and Han Cong have been on the field for many years, walking through the bland training years and also experiencing a frustrated time full of injuries. "Fight for the country" and "look forward to the national anthem", the dream is always buried in the heart, inspiring them to constantly challenge and surpass themselves.

After the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics four years ago, Sui Wenjing underwent surgery for a fatigue fracture in her right foot and missed most of the season. Han Cong underwent hip surgery in April 2020. But the mentality of the two is always positive, "after experience to grow." Sui Wenjing said.

Every highlight moment on the ice rink comes from struggle and perseverance. Break through the difficulty, improve artistic expression, increase performance stability... Step by step, they train steadily and constantly prove themselves on the ice rink.

Affected by the epidemic, the Chinese figure skating team missed most of the ISU figure skating events last season, and the Asian Figure Skating Open held at the Capital Gymnasium in October 2021 became the season debut of the two. After a long absence, they quickly regained their form in one appearance after another. At the ISU Grand Prix in Canada and Italy, the two won consecutive titles.

"1 month, 3 games, 6 sets of slides, several times jet lag, we withstood the test." Sui Wenjing said. Now, they are about to embark on their second trip to the Winter Olympics, "the goal is always the same, is to show their best self in the Winter Olympic games." ”

In the home battle, we must continue to polish our technology, strive for excellence, and adjust our state. "During the sprint phase, I follow the coaching team to continuously practice and advance the preparation plan." They said that the strong support of the state and the meticulous care of the coaching team allow them to devote themselves to the preparation without distraction, "go all out, do a good job, and step by step closer to the dream." ”

Zhao Dan, a volunteer of Shuang'ao and a teacher at Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications——

Enthusiastic and professional

Dan Zhao is a volunteer manager of the Beijing Olympic Park Public Area for the Beijing Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, and served in the Beijing 2008 Olympic and Paralympic Games. From 2008 to 2022, she experienced the development and progress of China's volunteer service industry, and saw more and more young people devote themselves to volunteer service work and dedicate their youth strength with their blood.

In April 2021, the "Meet in Beijing" ice project test activity was held. In the "mock examination" of the Winter Olympics, Zhao Dan led 20 volunteers to serve in 8 business fields, and successfully completed various tasks with professional and standardized service and enthusiastic spirit.

The service area of the Olympic Park public area is located outdoors, with a wide range of services, long time and heavy tasks. In order to minimize the physical exertion of volunteers on the road in cold weather, Zhao Dan and the volunteer team used the lunch break time to conduct field research and surveys, formulate the best induction route and the best scheduling plan, and ensure the efficient development of volunteer service. "Young people are not afraid of hardship, are creative, and are an important force in serving the Winter Olympics." Zhao Dan said.

In the volunteer home for volunteers to rest, Zhao Dan and his partners carefully designed the exhibition board, arranged the activity space, wrote the study manual and the volunteer work daily, and enriched the volunteer life and enhanced the cohesion of the team through various forms of theme activities. "We use limited space to create infinite possibilities and make volunteer homes a learning garden and a spiritual home." She said.

Zhao Dan clearly remembers that on the last day of the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games, she and the volunteers who fought side by side did not want to leave for a long time, leaving a group photo in front of the National Stadium, freezing the smile of youth. Before the testing campaign began in April 2021, she once again took volunteers to the "Bird's Nest" to take the same photos, hoping to pass on the Olympic spirit and volunteer spirit.

For the upcoming Beijing Winter Olympics and Winter Paralympic Games, Zhao Dan is full of expectations: "Be a good cultivator with heart and affection, plant a good responsibility field with love and deeds, and go all out to do a good job in volunteer service work with the spirit of 'time is not waiting for me, only racing against the clock', and show the youth style of Chinese volunteers to the world." ”

Guangzhou Youth Ski Instructor Zeng Guoying——

Snow on the ice and have fun

Zeng Guoying, who grew up in Yunfu City, Guangdong Province, came to Guangzhou Sunac Snow World a few years ago to do reception service work, and at that time, she did not expect to become a ski instructor.

"When I was a kid, I hardly ever saw snow, let alone slid through it. At first, I was curious, I wanted to develop a hobby, and after work, I would go to the snow slopes about two days a week. "When I first started learning to ski, I would often fall down and my knees would be bruised, but Zeng Guoying still insisted on practicing. More than half a year later, the department had an application for a place for the coaching team, Zeng Guoying actively applied, through hard training, she successfully obtained the coaching certificate and began her career as a ski instructor.

Beijing Yanqing homestay operator Zhang Haichao——

Ice and snow economy Warm melts

In winter, Beijing is full of blue skies, and Xiaohaituo Mountain, where the Yanqing Competition Area of the Winter Olympic Games is located, is a scene wrapped in silver. At the foot of the mountain, after the Black Dragon Temple Village in Zhangshanying Town, the once quiet small mountain village has become lively due to the Winter Olympics.

"If there is no Winter Olympic opportunity, the market will not be so hot." Zhang Haichao is the operator of a local boutique homestay and a native of Zhangshan Camp. In March 2016, when he was doing business in the urban area of Beijing, he learned that his hometown Zhangshanying would plan to build a "Winter Olympic Ice and Snow Leisure Town" and decided to seize the opportunity to return to his hometown to start a business.

"The nearby ski slope is the largest professional ski base in Yanqing. The Winter Olympics are coming, there are more skiers, and there is definitely a demand for accommodation. Zhang Haichao led the team to renovate and rebuild the old houses in the village, creating 19 small courtyards, each of which was basically designed and decorated around the elements of the Winter Olympics.

"About 50 percent of the guests in winter come to play with snow and ice, and it's hard to find a room on weekends." Zhang Haichao said. Since 2016, the number of high-end homestay courtyards in Zhangshanying Town alone has grown from zero to 64. In recent years, the development of Yanqing's ice and snow industry has been warm and melting, and since the successful bid for the Beijing Winter Olympics, Yanqing has received a total of 11.7531 million ice and snow tourism and ice and snow sports tourists, and the income of ice and snow sports tourism is 823 million yuan.
