Murder in the Heart of the Mossad: From the kidnapping of Nazi war criminals across borders, to the hanging of the bones, fierce

November 1945, Nuremberg. The victorious powers of World War II formed an international military tribunal to put 22 major Nazi war criminals on trial, known in history as the Nuremberg Trials.

But the trial left out one important figure, Adolf Eichmann. The high-ranking official, known as the "Nazi executioner," single-handedly orchestrated Nazi Germany's attempt to systematize the "End Solution" (Endlösung der Judenfrage) of the extermination of European Jews.

Born in the Rhineland, Germany, Eichmann grew up in Austria and joined the Austrian Nazi Party in 1932. In 1935, he joined the newly created Jewish Department of the Security Service and became the main planner and executor of the SS's anti-Semitic policies.

In September 1939, the Imperial General Security Service was established, and Eichmann became the head of the Gestapo Jewish Department. His power was even higher than that of the head of any other department under Reinhard Heydrich.

In October 1941, Eichmann participated in the discussion of a "final settlement". And at Heydrich's behest, Jews were captured in large numbers and their property was robbed. Eichmann personally inspected the extermination camps several times, supervising their efficiency and progress, and arguably his hands were stained with Jewish blood.

By the end of World War II, Eichmann was captured by the Americans, but escaped. After a long escape from Genoa, Italy, he went into exile in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he worked for the local Mercedes-Benz company and changed his name to Ricardo Klement.

Although Eichmann was carefully disguised, he was still revealed by his family, and some people guessed that this "Ricardo" was actually the Nazi demon Adolf. Eichmann.

The news soon reached the ears of fritz Bauer, then Germany's attorney general, who was jewish himself and vowed to find the criminal who was hiding thousands of miles away.

But at the same time, he also understood that everything in post-war Germany was waiting to be rebuilt, and the atmosphere of "reconciliation" was pervasive in society. Regarding Eichmann's case, even if it is reported to the government, it is estimated that they will not really pay attention to it.

So he came up with another idea, to inform the Israeli intelligence service Mossad. This intelligence group was known after World War II for hunting down and killing former Nazi members, and retaliated against Nazi war criminals hidden in all corners of the globe.

After receiving the news, the Mossad attached great importance to it, and they would certainly not let go of a fish like Eichmann, let alone be soft. But the first task before them is to distinguish between seriousness and falsehood.

During that period, the Mossad received numerous daily reports of Nazi fugitives, including a large number of false and oolong intelligence. Therefore, carefully screening the reliability of intelligence often becomes a necessary task for the Mossads before formulating follow-up plans.

Through various channels, the Mossad found the location of Eichmann and successfully took a secret photo. But how do you tell if the man who calls himself "Ricciardo" is Eichmann, a former Nazi war criminal? You must know that at that time, the Mossad did not have any photographs of Eichmann's Nazi period to compare.

But this also did not stop the Mossad, who learned some information about Eichmann's former mistress from the intelligence network scattered around the corners, which soon became a new breakthrough.

The Mossad arranged for a handsome agent to go to the mistress's frequent haunts, find an opportunity to talk to her, and after getting acquainted, start dating her again until he fully earned her trust.

Later, the agent finally had the opportunity to visit the mistress's house. The atmosphere between the two was harmonious, and in a relaxed atmosphere, the mistress even took out the previous photo album to enjoy with the agent.

Of course, Eichmann's previous photographs were in her mistress's photo album, and the mistress took him out to give a special lecture to the agent... The agent's purpose was finally achieved, and he later found an opportunity to steal the photo from his mistress's house and give it to the Mossad relevant personnel, and compared it with the secretly taken photo of "Ricardo".

Although the two photos are very different in time, the ear is the least changed organ in the human body, and the Mossad finally confirms through the ear that the "Ricardo" they tracked and locked was the Nazi demon Adolf. Eichmann.

Later, through careful planning and at great risk of attacking diplomatic relations with Argentina, the Mossad secretly captured (or kidnapped) Eichmann, who was already an Argentine citizen, on Argentine soil, and quietly brought him back to Israel through a business jet.

On the afternoon of May 23, 1960, then-Israeli Prime Minister Ben Gurion announced to his countrymen: "Today, I would like to solemnly announce to you that the Israeli State security apparatus has captured a very important Nazi war criminal, Adolf Eichmann... He is currently being held in an Israeli prison and will soon be brought to trial in an Israeli court under the 1950 law against the Nazis and their collaborators..."

Faced with all the charges of crime, Eichmann prevaricated that "everything was done on order." Unsurprisingly, he was sentenced to death and hanged on the night of 31 May 1962.

On the eve of his execution, the former murderous maniac wrote a farewell letter to his wife, Vera Eichmann: "Vera, you must think like this: What if one of the many bombs during the war took me away?" Fate has given us so many extra years that we must thank it for it..."

The letter was very emotionally written, but what Eichmann did not expect was that after his death, no relatives were willing to claim it back. Eventually, the Israeli government scattered his ashes in the Mediterranean Sea, far from the high seas of Israel. The reason is that the Israeli authorities want to completely remove all traces of this Nazi war criminal in Israel, and they will never allow the remains and ashes of the Nazis to defy any inch of Israel's land...

It has to be said that whether it is "killing" or "cursing", Israel and his Mossad are first-class masters!
