In the chaotic world of the Three Kingdoms, if the various forces are thirsty for talents and are true talents, very few will be buried. The history of the Three Kingdoms is mainly about the three families of Wei Shu and Wu competing for hegemony and acting independently. Then the three companies naturally need to have their own strong military foundation and talent support. There are three people, each of whom belongs to a different regime and serves a different monarch, but all three have one thing in common, and they die young. So who are these three people?
These three men were all famous strategists of the Three Kingdoms, namely Guo Jia of the State of Wei, Zhou Yu of the State of Wu, and Pang Tong of the State of Shu.
Why do the three of them play a great role in the balance of power in the three countries? First of all, the level of the three people is similar, they are all wise and rare warriors; secondly, the age of death of the three people is almost the same, Zhou Yu died at the age of thirty-eight, and the other two died at thirty-six, that is to say, the three people fought wits and courage before they each served their own monarchs, and their deaths were almost the same age, whether before they were alive or after death, they maintained the balance of strength of the three kingdoms.
After the death of the three people, although the history of the three kingdoms continues, it is obviously not so exciting. So how good are the three of them?
First of all, let's talk about Zhou Yu of Wu Kingdom. Zhou Yu was born into a family of officials and eunuchs, not only was he born well, Zhou Yu was quite handsome, and Zhou Yu was described in the Romance of the Three Kingdoms as follows, "long and strong and graceful", which shows that his appearance is extraordinary, and zhou Yu is also described in history: "Temperament restoration" and "real wizards", Sun Quan praised Zhou Yu for having "Wang Zuo's assets", Fan Cheng praised him as "a hero of the world, a beautiful husband of Jiang Zuo". During the Song Dynasty, Emperor Huizong of Song posthumously honored him as Pinglubo, ranking among the sixty-four generals of the Tang Wu Temple and one of the seventy-two generals of the Song Wu Temple.
Zhou Yu befriended Sun Ce when he was young, and at the age of 21, he followed Sun Ce to the battlefield to pacify Jiangdong. Sun Ce was assassinated, Sun Quan succeeded him, and Zhou Yu sent his troops to the funeral, with the Zhonghu Army and Changshi Zhang Zhao in charge of everything. Zhou Yu is very good at "seeing people" and has attracted many talents for Eastern Wu, and great generals like Lu Su and Gan Ning can serve Eastern Wu, which is indispensable to Zhou Yu's credit.
Zhou Yu was also very far-sighted, leading the army to join forces with Liu Bei to resist Wei and defeat Cao Cao in the Battle of Chibi, which laid the foundation for the three divisions of the world from then on, after the Battle of Chibi, Zhou Yu offered Sun Quan a plan to put Liu Bei under house arrest and directly manage the army subordinates of Liu Bei's camp, Sun Quan believed that Cao Cao still needed to be contained in the north, and also thought that Liu Bei was afraid that it would be difficult to control, so he did not adopt it. In the fifteenth year of Jian'an, Sun Quan approved Zhou Yu's plan to conquer Yizhou, but zhou Yu fell seriously ill while rushing back to his garrison of Jiangling and preparing for the expedition, and eventually died in Baqiu, when he was Chinese New Year's Eve six years old. Zhou Yu's death is definitely a major regret for Sun Quan.
The second one is Guo Jia of the State of Wei. The history books call Guo Jia "a talented strategist, a wonder of the world." Cao Cao also praised him for his knowledge of people and his own "Qizuo".
Guo Jia was very discerning, and when he was a teenager, he predicted that the world would be in chaos, so he began to live in seclusion at the age of twenty, just to find a monarch who was truly suitable for himself and worth his life in this chaotic world.
Someone recommended Guo Jia to Cao Cao, so Cao Cao found an opportunity to summon Guo Jia and discuss the world's major events with him, and after the discussion, Cao Cao said: "The person who can help me achieve great things is him!" After Guo Jia left the tent, he also said with great joy: "This is my real master!" ”
Guo Jia proposed many strange plots for Cao Cao, and in the second year of Jian'an, in order to help Cao Cao regain morale against Yuan Shao, Guo Jia put forward the famous "ten victories and ten defeats". In the third year of Jian'an, he offered Cao Cao a plan to kill Lü Bu at Xia Pi City. And Guo Jia not only dedicated his plan to fight for Cao Cao, but also always advised Cao Cao how to know people and govern the world, without Guo Jia, whether Wei could become the most powerful country in the Three Kingdoms is still unknown.
The last thing to talk about is pang tong of the Shu kingdom. Pang Tong was an important strategist under Liu Bei's account, and he and Zhuge Liang worshiped as a military general, Pang Tong Zhuge Liang and Zhuge Liang were collectively known as "Wolong Phoenix Chicks", Xu Shu even told Liu Bei that the two of them could settle the world if they got one of them.
Pang Tong looks ordinary, so at first no one realized that such a person who did not look very intelligent was actually very wise and foolish. Sima Hui once commented on Pang Tong, saying: "No one in Nanzhou can compare with Pang Tong", and Pang Tong only began to be known at this time. After Pang Tong defected to Liu Bei, he gave a lot of good plans for Liu Bei to fight everywhere, and made great contributions in the process of Liu Bei's defeat of Shuchuan.
In the process of attacking Shu's march, at Fucheng, Liu Bei assembled his generals, drank wine and was satisfied. He said to Pang Tong, "Today's banquet should be fast." Pang Tong said: "Treat the crusade against other countries as happiness, not the soldiers of the benevolent." When Liu Bei was already drunk, he said angrily: "Isn't the King of Wu a master of benevolence and righteousness, singing before and dancing after?" You're not saying a good job, get out quickly. So Pang Tong got up and withdrew. But Liu Bei immediately regretted it and asked him to come back. Pang Tong returned to his original position and sat down, not looking at Liu Bei, nor apologizing, but only taking care of himself to eat and drink. Liu Bei asked, "Whose fault was it that we were discussing just now?" Pang Tong said: "You and I have a common fault." Liu Bei laughed loudly, and the joyful atmosphere resumed at the banquet. It can be seen that Liu Bei attaches importance to and trusts Pang Tong, and it can also be seen that the relationship between the two is very good.
Unfortunately, the three first-class strategists died prematurely, if they were still there, the Three Kingdoms would be even more exciting, then the duel between Zhuge Liang and Guo Jia, the PK with Zhou Yu, the side-by-side battle with Pang Tong, and even Wei Shu Wu would not necessarily exist.
