I took a taxi home in the early morning and fell asleep in the back seat of the car, but when I arrived at my destination, I found the driver kissing me on the cheek. Recently, Ms. Xixi, a citizen of Shanghai, took a taxi alone and encountered a terrible accident - she was molested by the driver. But about the behavior of getting on the back seat, the driver flatly denied this, saying that he just wanted to go to the back seat to wake up the sleeping Ms. Xixi.

After Xixi shared her experience on the Internet, some netizens said that they were very angry when they saw such an encounter and wanted to severely punish the driver; Some netizens also questioned whether the person had drunk too much and hallucinated, and whether he had undergone DNA testing to preserve evidence.
According to the follow-up monitoring process of Ms. Xixi, the author sorted out several doubts. For example, why does the driver take it upon himself to drive into a parking space that is remote from the gate after arriving at the destination? The surveillance shows that the driver gets out of the car from the front seat to the back seat, and does it take nearly ten minutes to be alone during the whole process of waking up?
Detection of DNA also does not prove that he was indecent?
At 2:56 a.m. on May 30, Xixi took an online car-hailing ride home from the restaurant through the aggregation travel platform, and the order was taken by Cao Cao, a third-party travel service provider on the platform.
According to Xixi's recollection, before getting in the car, she and her friends ate hot pot together, drank a glass of wine but did not get drunk, because she did not rest well because of the trivial matters of life, and she planned to sleep for a while when she felt tired when she got in the car. After getting into the car, the driver took the initiative to hand her a pillow and said that she could lie down and sleep, out of vigilance and strangeness, Sissy refused, but then couldn't resist the sleepiness and fell asleep again.
When Cissy woke up again, the driver somehow got into the back seat and was sitting next to her left side kissing herself. Seeing this, Xixi immediately woke up and hurriedly got out of the car and fled. At that time, her whole body was blindfolded. After the incident, Xixi quickly called the police and complained to the platform.

Although there is still a lack of evidence to support whether the "forced kiss" occurred or not, Sissy said that the driver in question sat on the left side of the back seat and kissed her "with my own eyes". Regarding the DNA test, the police told her, "The driver's confession was that he woke me up in the back seat, so the detection of DNA cannot directly prove that he molested me." ”
Cao Cao responded to the incident: "After the incident, the company attached great importance to it and has always actively cooperated with the police investigation. The Safety, City, and Experience team immediately formed a special team to investigate. Currently, the police are investigating the incident, and no conclusion has yet been determined. Until the results of the investigation are clear, we have banned the driver. ”
Despite the ban on the driver, the matter should not end there. Xixi believes that there are two major doubts in this matter, firstly, as a driver who provides services, why does the driver park his car in a parking space far away from the gate when the passenger does not inform the specific building and only fills in the gate of the community as the destination?
Regarding parking, the driver's confession to the police was that he was afraid of blocking the cars coming and going in the community, but it was already 4 o'clock in the morning, how could there be cars coming and going? And according to Sissy, she lives in a neighborhood where there are not many people with cars.
Secondly, after Xixi transferred the community surveillance, it was found that at 3:56, the driver got out of the front seat and got into the back seat and closed the left door, and had about 10 minutes of alone with her. If the driver's confession is to wake her up from a deep sleep, why is it necessary to go up to the back seat alone and close the door for a 10-minute wake-up call? The driver said that he was there to wake up the sleeping passengers, but anyone with a little common sense and sense of proportion knows that waking people up can be done by sound, and it is not necessary to have physical contact, let alone enter the same car.
In the author's opinion, the driver's behavior is extremely inappropriate for any purpose and motive, which not only causes dissatisfaction and panic among single women, but also does not meet the service specifications for driving commercial vehicles. As a platform, Cao Cao's audio and video recording function is turned off by default, and passengers need to manually set it on, and the recording function is only effective during driving. At the end of the trip, the driver enters the back seat, and the recording function is turned off, and the evidence is naturally missing.
Thousands of complaints about the lack of management of franchised vehicles
This incident exposed the loopholes in the current safety management measures of online ride-hailing.
It is worth noting that in Cao Cao's response, it was mentioned that the vehicle was a franchised car, that is, a social vehicle, so there was no dash cam, resulting in the lack of in-car monitoring at that time. The so-called franchise car means that the franchisee independently recruits drivers and accesses the Cao Cao travel platform by bringing or purchasing operating vehicles with legal compliance qualifications. This operating platform can provide significant cost savings, but it also increases security and management risks.
So, should the platform party Cao Cao Travel treat all types of vehicles equally, and require them to strengthen the qualification review of drivers, improve monitoring facilities, and ensure the safe experience of passengers? Since Cao Cao Travel is backed by Geely, why can't it achieve the most basic standardization in safety management?

According to public information, Cao Cao was established in 2015 and incubated by Geely Group, one of the world's largest automobile groups, with online car-hailing, special cars, taxis, carpooling and other businesses, of which travel revenue accounted for 96.6% of the total revenue. On April 29 this year, Cao Cao officially submitted a listing application to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, becoming the third online car-hailing platform to formally submit an IPO application in the Hong Kong stock market this year after Didi Chuxing and Ruqi Chuxing.
It is worth noting that Cao Cao Mobility entered the field of online car-hailing with a B2C direct sales model, and later opened a franchise model to strive for more drivers and gain a larger market share.
The author's search found that Cao Cao Travel has been facing controversy at the level of compliance and legality. On the consumer and driver side, black cat complaints show that as of June 1, Cao Cao's travel complaints have accumulated 6,909, 5,022 have been completed, and 168 complaints have been completed in the past 30 days, 12 of which have been completed. Most of them include passengers' doubts and complaints about fares, as well as drivers' doubts about the platform's "negative incentives".
In recent years, a number of online ride-hailing platforms, including Cao Cao, have been repeatedly interviewed by the Ministry of Communications for adjusting operating rules without authorization, recruiting or inducing unlicensed drivers and vehicles to "follow the car", and disrupting the order of fair competition in the market.
As of June 1, according to the Enterprise Early Warning Communication, Hangzhou Youxing has 803 administrative penalties, of which the vast majority of the punishment units are the Ministry of Transport; Tianyan check shows that the company has a total of 216 administrative penalties, of which 7 cases increased in May, and the punishment units are Hefei Municipal Transportation Bureau and Beijing Municipal Transportation Commission.

Among them, the types of illegal acts subject to administrative penalties received in May were all service drivers who did not obtain an online taxi driver's license.
As of December 31, 2023, some vehicles and drivers on the Cao Cao Travel platform have not yet obtained the necessary transportation licenses and online taxi driver licenses. From 2021 to 2023, Cao Cao has 53,111, 34,153 and 48,247 vehicles that have not yet obtained transportation permits, accounting for 23.0%, 15.8% and 15.7% of the total number of vehicles, while 62,101, 38,433 and 47,896 drivers have not yet obtained online car-hailing driving licenses, accounting for 27.0%, 18.0% and 15.7% of the total number of drivers, respectively.
Cao Cao acknowledged in the prospectus that its business, financial condition and results of operations could be materially and adversely affected if the platform drivers or vehicles fail to obtain and maintain the necessary licenses or permits to provide ride-hailing services. Platforms may be subject to administrative penalties, including corrections and fines, or may be ordered to suspend, terminate or significantly reduce operations.
Rectification and fines after the fact cannot fundamentally solve the problem, no matter how fierce the competition in the online car-hailing market is, safety guarantee is the first, and everything is equal to zero without safety.
