However, another highland , 537. The difficulty of the 7 Highland North Mountain counterattack was far beyond Li Desheng's expectations. On the evening of the 11th, Li Desheng ordered the 92nd Regiment to launch a counterattack, but by the 14th, the regiment was exhausted. As a last resort, Li Desheng pulled the two battalions of the 93rd Regiment up.
In just 3 days, a main force of the 12th Army was destroyed, which was cruel to Wang Jinshan and Li Desheng, who had experienced hundreds of battles. As a last resort, Wang Jinshan ordered: "Let the 106th Regiment of the 34th Division of the 12th Army go up." ”
This was the last regiment of the three corps to be put into the Battle of Shangganling.
The leader of the regiment is Wu Xiaoxian.
Wu Xiaoxian, a native of Qinyuan, Shanxi, joined the Eighth Route Army in 1938 and fought many hard, big and vicious battles in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the War of Liberation, and the 106th Regiment was also a first-class main regiment in Erye. During the Battle of Dingtao, the 3rd Division of Zhao Xitian of DayangHu was fought, and Wu Xiaoxian was the commander of the main attack battalion. After the battle, the remaining soldiers in the company were not as many as the cooks; when he advanced into dabie mountain, he was the commander of the open road battalion; in the Battle of Huaihai, he led the main attack regiment; in the march into the southwest, he also led the vanguard regiment, and Li Wen, commander of the Kuomintang Fifth Corps, was captured by him. Wu Xiaoxian entered the dynasty late. On August 1, 1952, he entered the DPRK immediately after completing his studies at the Nanjing Military Academy, but did not catch up with the five battles, but led the 106th Regiment to Shangganling.
When he went to the corps headquarters to be ordered, the old chief Wang Jinshan said to him:
"The 106th Regiment must fight to the end in Shangganling and close the stalls!"
Wu Xiaoxian replied, "Commander, I understand the burden on my shoulders. ”
When he arrived at the military command post, Li Desheng's words were the same as those of the commander:

However, the 92nd Regiment only fought for 3 days and could not resist. Although Wu Xiaoxian had long experienced hard battles and vicious battles, when he led the 106th Regiment to Shangganling, his heart was still shocked: they sneaked into the position in the dark at night, only to see the severed arms and limbs all over the place, as if they had mistakenly entered the Yin Cao Prefecture, and the soldiers who had just arrived were all terrified... After dawn, they looked at the 537.7 Highland North Mountain, a small area that had been turned into a black scorched earth by enemy artillery fire, and the black and bald highland was still covered with smoke and shadows--the 93rd Regiment was still fighting with the enemy...
The trench warfare had been fought for a month, and all the fortifications and tunnels had been destroyed by repeated artillery fire. The same fate fell to the 106th Regiment, which was as tragic and cruel as the 45th Division and the 92nd Regiment before it.
On the 17th, the 106th Regiment officially took over 537. 7 Highlands North Hill Scramble and Consolidation Position Task.
On the 18th, the 8th Company of the 3rd Battalion was exhausted.
On the 19th, the 7th Company of the 3rd Battalion was exhausted.
On the 20th, the last company of the 3rd Battalion, the 9th Company, took it up and ran out again.

Several people pondered, repeatedly planned, practiced, and finally came up with a plan. Subsequently, Wu Xiaoxian proposed a new method of warfare to Li Desheng:
First, at the foot of beishan mountain, there are two tunbing holes that have not been damaged, but one company can be tuned. There were 500 meters from the foot of the mountain to the top of the mountain, and every time the troops moved to the top of the mountain, most of them were killed or injured on the way. He suggested digging a gun hole every 50 meters on this section of the road, and digging a large tunnel 20 meters from the top of the mountain to accommodate the next platoon. Li Desheng adopted this suggestion, and Wang Jinshan agreed.

The 12th Army finally withdrew from Shangganling, and Wu Xiaoxian was the 106th Regiment.
