The Japanese prisoners had no food to eat, and Major General Zeng Kelin sent 50 sheep, which resulted in four air force commanders!

The Japanese government announced its surrender in 1945, symbolizing that the fate of the three northeastern provinces had changed from then on, and the people of the three northeastern provinces could finally live in peace.

Although the Japanese government declared its surrender, there were still a small number of Japanese troops who were willing to flee and were unwilling to be prisoners of the Chinese People's Liberation Army. One such example is a Japanese air force unit stationed at Shenyang's Fengjipu airport, when the Japanese air force under the leadership of commander Hayashi Yaichiro fled south, and when they fled to the south of Benxi, they were surrounded by our People's Liberation Army.

Afterwards, Zeng Kelin, commander of our army stationed in Shenyang, met with Lin Yaichiro and asked Lin Yatichiro what his plans were. Hayashi remembered the past: "When the Japanese army captured Chinese prisoners, they were usually killed, or they went to dig mines." Therefore, Hayashi Yaichiro took the initiative to ask to go mining. But what he did not expect was that the PLA did not let them dig, but let them return to Fengjipu airport.

Hayashi Yaichiro did not understand the PLA's practices very much, and even felt that there was a conspiracy. In fact, on the contrary, shortly after the meeting, Zeng Kelin saw that the Japanese prisoners had no food to eat, and sent three cows and fifty sheep to the Japanese army. Everyone was very surprised, why should they treat the Japanese kindly? Send them cattle and sheep?

I. The confession of Hayashi Yaichiro and others

After the end of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, our Party decided to establish China's first aerospace school in the three northeastern provinces, and wanted to hire Hayashi Yaichiro and others as teachers. Hayashi was very hesitant at the time, but he didn't have any choice, so he pretended to agree, and afterwards he changed his name to "Lin Baoyi".

Born in Osaka, Japan, Hayashi Yaichiro was plagued by illness and his parents died early. He completed his studies with the help of the Japanese government and relatives until after graduating from high school, Hayashi Yaichiro responded to the call of the state and decided to join the army. During his enlistment, he was favored by the officers for his excellent results, and within five years he became an instructor at the Aviation Academy.

In 1941, Hayashi was sent to China on a bombing mission in central China, and in 1944 he became the commander of the Japanese Second Air Group, by which time his rank was already Shōsa. It is known that the nearly 300-person aviation brigade led by Hayashi Yaichiro was the elite unit of the Japanese First Air Force at that time, and most of them were Japanese aviation technical personnel.

It was not until 1945, when the Japanese government announced its surrender, that Hayashi wanted to return to Japan with his elite. However, when they fled, they did not expect that the three northeastern provinces had long been occupied by the People's Liberation Army, and later they were captured by our army. When negotiating with him, our army said: "As long as they surrender their weapons and surrender, they will not be harmed."

Due to the cruel policy of the Japanese army towards captives, Hayashi Yaichiro was deeply impressed by the captives and could not help but feel afraid. But zeng klin, the commander of our army, told him that China had a policy of preferential treatment of prisoners, which reassured him. When Zeng Kelin left, he also gave them three cows and fifty sheep, and remembering that moment, Lin Miichiro felt very guilty in his heart.

Hayashi Miichiro knew in his heart: "Zeng Kelin did not let them go to the mines, and if they can stay, it must be useful." But he did not expect Zeng kling to let them establish an aviation school and continue to make him an instructor. You must know that teaching Chinese to fly an airplane is a big thing, and we must not neglect it, not to mention that they are still prisoners and are in danger of dying at any time.

Second, the inspiration of faith

In early October 1945, Hayashi Yaichiro and several Japanese, led by Zeng Kelin, met with Wu Xiuquan and others, and on behalf of the central government, Wu Xiuquan reiterated to the Japanese present his Chinese views and attitudes toward the Japanese invasion of China, and told them that the war began with the initiator and not the executor. Commander Zeng Kelin reassured them about safety and hoped that Lin Yaichiro and others would make meritorious contributions to help China complete the task of establishing an aviation school.

Hayashi and the others were afraid that Chinese would kill them after using them, so they did not dare to agree immediately. At this point, he had a plan in mind, he said: "The defeat of the Japanese army has made me lose command, I want to go back and ask everyone, if more than half of the people are willing to stay in China, we will help you, otherwise I have no way."

Before leaving, in order to test the sincerity of the People's Liberation Army, he deliberately said to the general: "Can the general send me a pistol as a souvenir?" "You know, this gun once followed General Wu Xiuquan over the snowy mountains and over the meadows." But the general did not hesitate in the slightest, and took out his pistol and handed it to him. At this time, Hayashi Yaichiro finally saw the high wind and bright festival of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, he understood the significance of a gun to soldiers, and he lowered his head in touch.

Later, he told all the soldiers about this matter, and everyone dismissed the idea of returning to Japan and expressed their willingness to contribute to China's aerospace industry. In this way, in less than a week, the Northeast Aviation Institute was established, and at the same time, more than 100 soldiers transferred by Shandong Airlines were welcomed. At first, our army was still very worried about Hayashi Yaichiro and others, because after all, they had killed Chinese. Our army believes that they are not sincerely repentant now, but because they are afraid of death, they have submitted to China. Because our army wants to use their military technology to build an aviation academy, it has to respect these Japanese people who have slashed at everything.

In 1946, our army tried Sun Gengxiao, a traitor to the Northeast Han Dynasty, for colluding with Japanese pilots to launch a riot, and one of the Japanese pilots was arrested and insisted that Hayashi Yaichiro was the mastermind. Lin Yaichiro was difficult to distinguish in front of everyone, but our army quickly verified the cause and effect of this incident and found that he had been wronged. Therefore, after the leaders of our army talked to him and made it clear, Lin Yaichiro was very touched in his heart.

3. Equivalent exchange

Under the leadership of General Zeng Kelin, the Northeast Aviation Academy, which has been gradually perfected in the past four decades, has successively trained four air force generals. They were: "Commander Wang Hai, Deputy Commander Lin Hu, Deputy Commander Zhang Jihui and Commander Liu Yudi". It is known that during the period of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, Deputy Commander Zhang Jihui once flew a fighter plane to kill the AMERICAN ace pilot "George A davis."

In the winter of 1988, a Chinese reporter went to Japan to interview Yaichiro Hayashi, but when he saw the Chinese reporter coming, he said: "I prefer to Chinese call me Lin Baoyi." When the reporter asked about the matters in the northeast that year, Hayashi Yaichiro recalled: "At that time, there were about 5,000 instructors and cadets in total, and I have forgotten how many cadets I brought, but I always remember what Commander Zeng Klin said to me, and I will not forget the fact that Commander Zeng Kling gave us cattle and sheep."

Whether it is Hayashi Yaichiro or in the eyes of Chinese, Zeng Kelin is the first person to cultivate China's flight experience and aviation technical talents. Zeng Kelin laid the foundation for the theory and teaching of aviation in China and was defined by the Chinese People's Liberation Army Air Force as "the father of the People's Liberation Army Air Force".

Commander Zeng Kelin has trained more than 160 pilots, and 23 people have participated in the military parade. The four famous generals were all trained by Zeng Kelin and Hayashi Yaichiro, and the idea of learning the technology of japan's elite is even more valuable than that of outstanding pilots. It can be seen that these cattle and sheep are worth exchanging.
