My New Year's Day testimonials are written on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of Zhonghua Bookstore

Today is New Year's Day, I was originally "friends from afar to be happy", who knows, the blessing is not only there. In my happiness, I also received the "Introduction to Yanhuang Studies" recently published by The Zhonghua Book Company, which was co-authored by Mr. Zhou Hongyu and me. Ms. Gao Tian, the editor in charge of the Introduction, reminded me: "You happened to receive the book on the 110th anniversary of the founding of the bookstore." This is not only a double joy but a three joys. It is true that there is a joy in everything, and all the joys are coming.

On January 1, 1912, zhonghua bookstore was founded in Shanghai, and 70 years ago, the zhonghua bookstore editorial office moved to Beijing. In the past 110 years, Zhonghua Bookstore has provided readers with countless good books or book classics. I myself read many books published by the Zhonghua Bookstore, such as Zhao Jibin's "Records of Sleepy Knowledge", Feng Youlan's "Six Books of Zhenyuan", "History of Chinese Philosophy", Rao Zongyi's "Orthodoxy in Chinese Historiography", "Spring and Autumn Left Biography", and Li Zehou's books, and so on. Good books feel good. I deeply feel that, like business and Sanlian, Zhonghua Bookstore is the big book, the heavy book, and the place where the classics are produced. I had dreamed of publishing a book at zhonghua bookstore, how beautiful it would be. However, when our books were really published at zhonghua bookstores, I learned that publishing books here is not a "scenery", but a process in which ideas and the words expressing ideas are strictly "refined". Our "Introduction to Yanhuang Studies" has undergone repeated refinements from the first instance to the fourth trial. Ms. Gao Tian, the responsible editor of the book, has to strictly beat every sentence in the book. Every point of view requires a source, and every citation must be translated into a reliable version. It's a grueling re-learning process: you have to touch the truth of history and perspective. Quotations, quotations, quotations are "texts", but what is drawn out is history and authenticity. Making citations that exude the "body temperature" of history and opinion more innocent and reliable in the text is the pursuit of the bookstore and the pursuit of the author. I remember that when the "Introduction" talked about the "Yellow Emperor of History", he quoted "Chen Houyin (the second month and the next month) Dun Ming", Gao Tian's editor was not very reassured, asked us to further check the inscription, and finally with the help of the Hubei Provincial Library, we traced chen Dunming to the Wuying Hall of the Beiping Antiquities Exhibition Center during the Republic of China period, and saw the four big characters of "Gaozu Yellow Emperor" with our own eyes, and we touched the authenticity of history. At that moment, I was really at ease, and finally realized the true meaning of "the husband's learning is only to be assured of it". The ancients said that "the old carving worm is found in the chapter and excerpted sentences", and the excerpts of the quotations are not for the author to seek "scenery", but to lay a stable foundation for the text. There are too many similar examples, please rest assured, such as Si. In the process of communicating with Gao Tian's editor, I once said to her: "Publishing a book in the bookstore is actually a process of reading a doctorate. "Until now, my experience is still like this.

It cannot be said that the books produced by the Zhonghua Bookstore are all good books, and everyone has a time to go to Huarong. But the main person crawling on Huarong Road should be the author himself. Our book was published, but I still worry that mistakes and omissions are inevitable. I say this not to comfort myself, but because it is too difficult to reassure him about learning.
