In 1935, he participated in the Long March of the Red Fourth Front, and during the Long March, he studied at the University of the Red Army and learned a lot of revolutionary war theory.
After the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japan, he served as the company commander, deputy battalion commander, battalion commander, regimental chief of staff of the 129th Division, and served as a staff officer under Xu Xiangqian, deputy commander of the 129th Division.

On September 29, 2000, General He Zhengwen died in Beijing at the age of 83.
After he left, his children did not forget their father's instructions, and his children donated 450,000 yuan to their hometown school, plus 500,000 yuan of funds raised from many parties, and within a year, a new 1,200 square meter student dormitory building was built, the old house was demolished and expanded, and the sports field was hardened.
In 2005, in order to commemorate the general's gratitude and his family, the county and township government decided to rename the Banqiaokou Township Central Elementary School as "Main Text Elementary School" to commemorate the general's contribution to his hometown.
Although the general has left us, his spirit still inspires future generations and continues to move forward.
