Founded in June 2012, the Humanistic Archaeology Bookstore is located in Sanhuqiao South Road, Haidian District, and is the only professional independent bookstore in China with the theme of archaeology and literature. In the 125-square-meter storefront, there are more than 100 bookshelves, with a total of more than 10,000 kinds of archaeological books and more than 60,000 volumes.
The owner Hong Xia shared the experience of operating an archaeology theme bookstore during the visit: screening professional and higher quality book versions, controlling the selection; professional and meticulous classification of books in the store; contacting publishing houses across the country to order new books from the academic community and the industry at the first time; searching for professional books with strong information from different channels, helping the circulation of the still in stock, collecting the nearly out-of-print income bookstore for readers in need; updating the book news and book lists on the bookstore's social media platforms every day to provide readers with reference...

Owner Hong Xia introduced the store's collection of rare books
The Humanistic Archaeology Bookstore has reached long-term cooperation with many institutions and universities, and many scholars and readers at home and abroad have contacted Hong Xia to find and buy books through the bookstore's online store. Humanistic Archaeology Bookstore has been identified as a "characteristic bookstore" in the selection of Beijing characteristic bookstores (the most beautiful bookstores) for many times; in 2021, it won the title of "demonstration bookstore" and was selected as a support project for physical bookstores in Beijing and districts.
The operational experience and effect of humanistic archaeology bookstores in the past ten years have provided new paths and ideas for the development of physical bookstores. If bookstores want to achieve long-term development, they are not only the choice of "books + cultural creation + coffee + salon" cross-border composite.
