Micron's Xi'an DRAM plant suffered: Supply delays are expected

At present, Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, is engaged in a severe epidemic prevention and control war, due to the local chip factory layout, the outside world is also very concerned about the production order and the current situation.

Micron, the world's third-largest manufacturer of DRAM chips, said the company's Xi'an wafer factory has reduced the number of employees and contractors, which has had some impact on the output of its DRAM assembly and testing business, according to media reports. The company stressed that it has the ability to meet the needs of most customers, but new supply arrangements may be delayed.

According to the official website, Micron's Xi'an factory was established in 2006, mainly engaged in integrated circuit assembly and testing and DRAM module manufacturing.

Powertech Technology (PTI), a joint venture between Xi'an and Micron Packaging Factory, said on the 29th that the capacity utilization rate of its Xi'an sealing and testing plant in the past one or two days has dropped to 40-50%, which may have an impact on January operations, but the specific degree still needs to be continuously observed according to the progress of prevention and control.

In addition, Samsung's NAND flash factory in Xi'an is also flexibly adjusting its production lines, doing its best to ensure that customer service is not interrupted.
