In the ancient feudal imperial society, generally speaking, the powerful subjects would not have a good end. Even if there is no intention of rebellion, when there is the ability to rebel, it will be jealous of the emperor. In the end, he was killed on a trumped-up charge, huo Guang, a powerful minister of the Western Han Dynasty, Zhang Juzheng, a powerful minister of the Ming Dynasty, and so on, although they were all powered for a while, they did not end up well in the end. It can be seen that the powerful ministers are really not good, and if they are not careful, they will end up with the end of their names.
Aobai of the Qing Dynasty is a good example, in 1616, the Jurchen chief of Jianzhou Nurhaci rebelled against the Ming Dynasty and established the Later Jin Khanate. Twenty years later, Nurhaci's son Huang Taiji officially established the Qing Dynasty. By 1661, Nurhaci's grandson, the 23-year-old Shunzhi Emperor, died and was succeeded by the Kangxi Emperor Xuanye.
At that time, Kangxi was only 8 years old, and because he was still young, he was temporarily ruled by four Manchurian ministers headed by Aobai. Born in 1610, Ao bai was a Manchurian with a yellow flag. He was the three-generation founder of the Qing Dynasty from the Emperor Taiji to the Kangxi Dynasty, and from the time of the Emperor Taiji, he was a very popular subject, known as the "First Warrior of Manchuria". By the time of the Kangxi Dynasty, he had become a minister of honor, wielding authority, and his henchmen were all over the government and the public.
At this time, Ao Bai was proud of his achievements, and his arrogance did not pay attention to kangxi, the young emperor, at all. There were often acts of trespassing, and the gradually mature Kangxi began to feel dissatisfied, trying to get rid of this eye nail and a thorn in his heart. In order to bring down Aobai, Kangxi organized a group of teenagers to practice wrestling day and night.
Later things we know, kangxi eight years (1669). Taking advantage of the opportunity of Ao Bai to enter the palace alone, Kangxi set many traps in the palace, and a group of teenagers captured the "first warrior of the Manchu Qing Dynasty". Imprisoned, three generations of Qing dynasty rulers became lambs to be slaughtered.
The wall fell down and everyone pushed, and saw that the wind direction was not right, so they all went up to the table and started to play. Some of them list dozens of counts of worship. It is always to show loyalty to Kangxi and draw a clear line with Ao bai. In the end, Aobai was convicted of thirty major crimes by Kangxi, and remembered that the merits of hard work were not executed at the moment, and finally died in prison.
Objectively speaking, Kangxi's disposition of Aobai was much more benevolent than that of Shunzhi's disposition of Dolgun, and although Kangxi imprisoned Aobai, he did not kill him. Although the family was confiscated, there was no killing of his wife and children.
After Ao bai was executed, his son-in-law, Prince Jingjin, Lan Bu, was demoted to the position of Duke of Zhenguo. According to common sense, Namufu, the son of Aobai, should have been sentenced to death, but after Kangxi's personal interrogation, he issued an edict saying that "he has been effective for a long time, and he cannot bear to be punished" and imprisoned for a period of time, and then released.
In the fifty-second year of Kangxi, Kangxi thanked Aobai's old labor and restored him as a knight. After Yongzheng succeeded to the throne, he was given a thick burial and posthumously awarded the title of First Class Super Martial Duke. And the descendants of this worship are hereditary. Among the powerful vassals of the ancient feudal dynasties, in comparison, Ao bai was relatively lucky.
