In the ancient history of the mainland, there is a very interesting phenomenon, that is, after the courtiers were rewarded by the emperor with "Jia jiu xi", they basically finally usurped the throne and established themselves. Is this a coincidence? Definitely not. "Jia Jiu Xi" is the culmination of a courtier's position of power, and after reaching the peak, the next goal is to usurp the throne and become emperor.
(1) What is nine tin
Many people don't know what nine tin is? In fact, the nine tins were not objects, but the nine privileges that the ancient emperors gave to their courtiers. This privilege is set on the carriage and horse, bow and arrow, musical instrument, crown, clothes, musical instruments, guards, wine, axes and cymbals, using a more unique design, reflecting the unique status of the "jiajiu tin", the owner in the imperial court can be described as "under one person, above ten thousand people".
So who in history has been rewarded with "Jia Jiu Xi"? In fact, there are still many people who look closely, and these are all people who are in power and opposition without exception.
The first person in history to "add nine tins" was Wang Mang, who usurped the Western Han Dynasty and established himself, after which Cao Cao, Sima Zhao, Zhuge Liang, Sun Quan and others in the Three Kingdoms period all had the honor of "jia jiu xi". During the two Jin Dynasties and the Southern and Northern Dynasties, there were frequent wars and many regimes, so there were many people who were "jiajiuxi", such as Shi Le, Shi Hu, Huan Xuan, Hou Jing and others had such experiences, and the founding princes of the four kingdoms of Song, Qi, Liang, and Chen in the Southern Dynasty also experienced a "jiajiuxi" configuration before becoming emperors.
(2) Emperors and courtiers
In fact, the probability of usurpation of the throne by the "jiajiuxi" people is extremely high, mainly because of the distribution of power.
From the perspective of the emperor, before the "jiajiuxi", the courtiers must have had power far more than the imperial power. In this context, there will be two situations, one is that the emperor, under the persecution of the powerful ministers, has no choice but to give him the honor of "adding nine tins", and the other is that the emperor gives him the honor of "adding nine tins" in order to stabilize the hearts of the powerful ministers and make them temporarily dispel the idea of usurping the throne.
In either case, it is not the emperor's willingness, the reason is very simple, how can others snore next to the bed? What emperor would want to make his courtiers as honorable as his own?
From the perspective of a courtier, it is even simpler to analyze that the power can be greater than that of the emperor, and he must have the political skills and ambitions of too ordinary people. Since he has the strength to claim the title of emperor, why should he be subordinate to others? If you do not usurp the throne in time and stand on your own, once the emperor's strength grows, then he will inevitably die without a place to die.
(3) The role of external forces
In addition, there is another important reason, that is, after the "jiajiu tin", the retinue around the powerful minister began to stir. Since ancient times, most of the founding kings have been embraced, such as Han Gaozu's "snake-cutting uprising", Song Taizu's "yellow robe plus body" and so on.
When the followers saw that the master had the hope of usurping the throne and ascending the throne, they would certainly try their best to encourage the master to usurp the throne. Because once the master becomes the emperor, he himself becomes a founding hero, with endless glory and wealth and a great future. Therefore, under the persuasion of the followers, the courtiers were more likely to do usurpation.
To sum up, the name of "Jia jiu xi" is the emperor's reward to his courtiers, which is actually the first step taken by the courtiers from the position of the courtiers to the throne. Just as the so-called "arrow is on the string and has to be sent", since the usurpation of power has already occurred, then the usurpation of the throne is sooner or later, so the usurpation after the "plus nine tin" has become a historical necessity.
