In 1918, "Tiger, Leopard, Jackal" poisoned Hunan: warlord Zhang Jingyao's bad deeds

Zhang Jingyao, an ordinary warlord, is a typical villain! In the warlord world, he is an inconspicuous character, but in the villain world, his reputation is "resounding". Someone said this about him: the best of the villains, the worst villains!

In 1918, "Tiger, Leopard, Jackal" poisoned Hunan: warlord Zhang Jingyao's bad deeds

First, the poison lake Xiang

From March 1918 to June 1920, Zhang Jingyao supported the army and was the overseer of Hunan Province, greedy and cruel, and did nothing wrong, which was really outrageous. In Hunan at that time, Zhang Jingyao was called "Zhang Poison" by the people. A Hunan man wrote a poem that slipped through the cracks:

"TangTang Hu Zhang, Yao Shun Yu Tang." One two three four, tiger leopard jackal. If the poison is not removed, Hunan has no hope."

Under his "management", the people of Huxiang Province did not have a good life, and people's lives were miserable. Forced by its obscenity, the media was silent. To evade news scrutiny, some people reported in obscure ways, such as "Yesterday there was a bandit with a foreign accent robbing somewhere and then roaring away" and "the bandits posing as soldiers, robbing a lot of property somewhere and shooting the victim." The police did not dare to stop them. After that, they fled somewhere..."

Of course, the "they" here are Zhang Jingyao and his soldiers, and the "bandits" here are not bandits, but the "Seventh Division" that is not even as good as the bandits. (In 1914, Zhang Jingyao was promoted to commander of the 7th Army Division for his "meritorious service" in suppressing the uprising.)

In order to cover up his ugly behavior, although Zhang Jingyao blocked the news very strictly, this midpoint was leaked through various channels and eventually known to the outside world.

In April 1918, two foreigners returned from a trip to Pingjiang, Hunan Province, and told people about some local observations and stories:

The commander-in-chief (Zhang Jingyao) had crossed the border the previous week and promised to settle the people's livelihood. A day or two ago, about 2,000 women and children were lured home. When a woman returned home, she saw that her house was in ruins, so she committed suicide and died. A woman struggled to find a pot of food, but it was not cooked, and suddenly a soldier took the pot and left... From Changsha to Pingjiang for seventy miles, these two outsiders basically did not see any other creatures except for Zhang Jingyao's soldiers. Several times I slept in empty houses on deserted streets, and no one paid attention. The next morning, when I left the house, I didn't see anyone. Along the way, livestock were killed, food was plundered, the inhabitants fled, and seventy miles of land was as desolate as ruins. The women in Changsha city committed suicide out of fear or fear of humiliation, and it is not easy to describe...

There are many such things, rather than being humiliated at home, it is better to take refuge outside, and the people rush to return to the shelter.

Afterwards, someone commented: "The most vicious and vicious people are actually the Seventh Division under Zhang Jingyao's command." "It is difficult to say whether such a situation occurred whether the overseers did not govern the army strictly or did not want to do it.

Second, the bad deeds are spotted

In view of the tragic situation during that period, some investigators drew a pamphlet entitled": "Records of the Rape and Evil Committed by the Northern Soldiers in the East and North of Changsha City from March 29 to April 3", which detailed thirty-four cases of murder, suicide, rape, and injury, with a total of thirty-four victims. As for the scourge of plunder, almost none of these thirty-four homes and their surrounding areas were spared.

The areas referred to in the book are in the countryside in the east and north directions of Changsha, less than twenty miles away from the city, less than twenty miles away from each other, the area is not wide, and the number of residents is not more than other areas. Although this area was the first area to be ravaged by Zhang Jingyao's army, it was not necessarily the area that was most ravaged.

The statement of the person who printed the album was hidden because some of the victims were reluctant to speak out, and because other areas had not been examined in detail, so the contents of the book were not the whole of this tragedy. Nonetheless, some of the details disclosed in the brochure are shocking enough, and a simple excerpt is as follows:

A woman of about twenty years of age was attacked by three Northern Soldiers, raped by one of the three, and was so badly injured that she could not move;

A woman over the age of forty who was humiliated and threw herself into the water and died, her husband was seriously injured;

A certain person was shot in the abdomen, and his mother begged not to shoot again, but eventually died of his injuries, and his brother was also shot and killed;

Four women in a house were raped; a certain woman was tragically shot and killed, and her home was robbed several times; an old woman was shot, her life and death are unknown, and her daughter-in-law was raped;

A certain soldier hung on a beam at home for the northern soldiers, stabbed them with a gun, and then burned his wounds with a candle, forcing the whole family to watch and not allow them to speak;

When a certain ben came to rescue his eight-year-old daughter, both father and daughter were shot, and the valuable things in the family were included in 762 silver and 170 yuan. His relatives were also robbed and forced to carry the stolen goods for fifteen miles, the whole family was injured, and the valuables were robbed;

A policeman was wounded several times and died, and his mother was widowed for twenty-six years, only this one son;

In 1918, "Tiger, Leopard, Jackal" poisoned Hunan: warlord Zhang Jingyao's bad deeds

A thirty-six-year-old widow with a sixteen-year-old daughter who was still in infancy when her husband died. The woman raised her daughter with discipline and respected her blind dates. After the second change on March 29, a group of soldiers destroyed the door, the mother and daughter escaped from the back door, the soldiers chased after each other, and the mother and daughter finally fell into the water and died;

A certain household was plundered twenty or thirty times, twenty-seven silver ingots, more than a thousand yuan, nearly silver and ocean thousands of dollars of gold and silver ornaments and furniture and other things were plundered.

The above is only a part of the tragic situation in Hunan Province under the rule of the villain Zhang Jingyao, and the list goes on and on. For such a bully, although the common people cannot show all kinds of things for a while, in their hearts, they are naturally cursed by everyone. On June 11, 1920, Zhang Jingyao was expelled from Hunan.

Third, play for the tiger

In the spring of 1933, during the Great Wall War of Resistance, after a fierce battle between the enemy and us, the Japanese army was trapped at Xifeng Pass and could not break through. At that time, the commander-in-chief of the Japanese army, Muto Nobuyoshi, wanted the secret agent Itagaki Seishiro to co-opt the warlords to assist the Japanese in the attack. After receiving the order, Itagaki immediately set off, disguised himself, and rushed to Tianjin. He directly found several warlords with strength or appeal to begin interviews, including Duan Qirui, Wu Peifu, and Sun Chuanfang. After understanding it, the three refused on the spot, which can be said to have left no face for Itagaki.

At that time, Itagaki did not care about face at all, what he needed was to find a warlord and help the Japanese army escape from this predicament. After itagaki carefully thought about several powerful warlords, he found Zhang Jingyao, gave him a huge sum of money on the spot, and as long as he helped the Japanese army escape the predicament this time, the future military and political power in the northeast was all handed over to him.

Zhang Jingyao agreed with a full mouth, and after the two sides made an appointment, Itagaki was very happy and immediately sent a telegram to Muto Nobuyoshi. The Japanese army gathered more than 100,000 people in the direction of the Great Wall, only to wait for Zhang Jingyao to revolt in Tianjin.

Fourth, the shameful end

Fortunately, the telegram was cracked by the agents of the military command, and the telegram was delivered to Dai Kasa's eyes on the spot. Dai Kasa was very angry at that time, he couldn't believe that Zhang Jingyao was going to make an agreement with the invaders for the slightest benefit and attack our defenders. At that time, Dai Kasa's heart was very heavy, and he gave an order to the killer of the Blue Jacket Society: at all costs, kill the national thief Zhang Jingyao.

On the morning of May 7, 1933, Zhang Jingyao had just gotten up at the Six Kingdoms Hotel in Beiping, when three killers of the Blue Jacket Society suddenly appeared, and in the sound of several dull bullets, Zhang Jingyao slowly fell to the ground and died. Zhang Jingyao, who was full of evil, finally got the end he deserved!
