Xinhua All Media + | electronic eyes, robotic arms, and 5G applications, such "assistants" are a bit strong

In the buzzing plant, operator Zhang Jianqiang is molding the chip with the cooperation of "assistants". After checking the quantity, he put the material into a two-meter-high machine, and the mechanical rod shaped like an arm immediately became busy, and in a few moments he handed over several versions of the plastic sealed semi-finished product.

This "assistant" with sharp hands and feet is the intelligent plastic sealing manufacturing system put into use by Gansu Tianshui Huatian Technology Co., Ltd. not long ago, and its arrival has added a "left arm" to Zhang Jianqiang, who once stuck to the workbench and manually completed the plastic sealing process.

"Most of the work is done by them, and my hands are free." Zhang Jianqiang said with a smile that he only needed to do a good job for the 4 machines under his command.

Behind the effort saving is peace of mind. Before the arrival of automated external inspection equipment, inspector Zhang Jiaojiao needed to distinguish product errors through the naked eye, which made her always hang her mind at work.

In August this year, an "assistant" with "electronic eyes" came to Huatian Technology. Its huge square body is embedded with a special camera that can accurately screen out problematic products by comparing samples and standard drawings. The "stone" in Zhang Jiaojiao's heart fell to the ground, and her work was more energetic.

Since 2019, Huatian Technology has successively introduced a variety of intelligent "assistants" to assist production, and has also opened up barriers between various links and various types of information through "super brains" and 5G freight robots. Not long ago, Huatian Technology was rated as the first batch of provincial-level intelligent factories in Gansu Province.

Gansu is a large industrial province in the northwest region. In 2019, Gansu Province launched a three-year action for the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries, and vigorously promoted the greening, informatization and intelligent upgrading of industrial enterprises. According to the relevant planning, Gansu strives to reach the national advanced level of greening, informatization and intelligence in the three advantageous industries of petrochemical, metallurgy and nonferrous metals by 2022, and the coal, building materials, thermal power, equipment manufacturing, agricultural product processing and logistics industries will reach the national average.

According to the statistics of the Gansu Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, from January to November this year, Gansu's "three modernizations" transformation completed an investment of 11.65 billion yuan. Among them, 82 intelligent projects completed an investment of 3.51 billion yuan.

In the past two years, the transformation of "three modernizations", especially the mature application of 5G technology, has made the transformation and upgrading of Gansu's traditional industries enter the fast lane. In September 2020, the 5G unmanned mine vehicle jointly built by China Mobile and Jiugang Group has been officially put into use.

Zhang Wei, deputy general manager of China Mobile Jiayuguan Branch, introduced that 5G unmanned mine vehicles are one of the important systems of the "5G + Smart Mine" project, which can help operators stay away from the harsh natural environment, and a single remote operation platform can control five vehicles at the same time, which greatly improves work efficiency.

In Lanzhou New District, the first demonstration base for comprehensive testing and application of intelligent transportation and intelligent networked vehicles in Gansu Province has just been completed and put into use. This base is also based on 5G technology support, attracting a number of domestic manufacturers of autonomous driving dynamic experience vehicles to participate in the vehicle test experience.

"We will continue to promote the application of intelligent technology in the production and manufacturing of enterprises, liberate manpower, and strive for China's 'intelligent' manufacturing."
