Villagers inadvertently dug up a "Qi Bang Hai'er doll", which was considered unlucky, and the experts exchanged two washbasins

In 1973, when a farmer in Dadiwan, Gansu Province, ploughed the ground, he dug up a colorful "Qi Liu Haier Doll" and took it home as a salt pot. But a few days later, the two old sows in the family suddenly died, and the villagers quickly said to him: "This 'doll' is unlucky, it is something used by dead people, quickly break it!" ”

This farmer's name was Zhang Delu, and he had no culture, but two sows had died in his family, and he couldn't help but wonder in his heart.

Because in this field, every year, villagers dig up some broken pottery pots and some pottery pieces, and if they are lucky enough to dig up the intact ones, they will also take them back to put a salt seasoning or something, but it is the first time that they have dug up this kind of colored "pottery doll".

Zhang Delu's family is not rich, has always been frugal, and thinks that throwing away good things is not a waste?

The old mother and daughter-in-law also nagged that there was something wrong with this "pottery doll", saying that it was a pottery urn coffin specially prepared for those children who died prematurely, and they could not be kept! Urged Zhang Delu to break it and throw it away.

Zhang Delu was reluctant to come, and the second look at this "tao doll" features are small and exquisite, with a nose and eyes, a round face embellished with Qi Bangs Hairstyle, beautiful with a silly breath, looking left and right, it does not look like a "bad doll"!

So, he went out with the "tao doll", and the old mother and daughter-in-law saw him, thinking that he was going to go out and break the "tao doll", and they were relieved together.

Unexpectedly, not long after, Zhang Delu returned with a "pottery doll" and led an old man with a lot of knowledge in the village behind him.

The old man looked around the pigsty and said, "Well, this pig, you quickly dug a pit and buried it, they died of swine fever, and they have nothing to do with this pottery. ”

The family was relieved, and Zhang Delu also happily chanted: "I will say, where is such a cute 'bad doll'!" ”

Subsequently, this "pottery doll" was used as a salt pot, and it was placed for 5 years.

In 1978, experts launched excavation work on the "Ruins of Dadiwan Village in Gansu Province", thus reproducing the splendid and exquisite faience pottery culture in Gansu.

It is worth mentioning that after radiocarbon determination, experts were shocked to find that the Dadiwan site turned out to be a prehistoric site, about 8,000 years ago, earlier than the Yangshao culture discovered in 1921.

Subsequently, during the excavation process, experts found that many artifacts had fallen into the hands of surrounding villagers, and then began to collect them.

The villagers heard that the experts were going to pay for the collection of such clay pots and pots, and they wanted to exchange some money, so they all took out their own ones and showed them to the staff.

Zhang Delu thought to himself, those in your home are all "common things", how beautiful is this "pottery doll" in my family, so I also went out with the "pottery doll".

Experts took a look at the "pottery doll", and suddenly a look of amazement, this colorful pottery person is not only beautiful in shape, but also beautiful in pattern, absolutely extraordinary, when they learned that Zhang Delu took it to load salt, it was even more stunned, which was too violent!

Subsequently, they happily accepted the pottery and said to Zhang Delu: "We will take this pottery back and identify it first, if it is indeed a cultural relic, then we will definitely reward you." ”

Later, experts identified and verified:

This is a fine red clay pottery man, 5500 years old, its height is 31.8 cm, the caliber is 4.5 cm, and the bottom diameter is 6.8 cm.

Tao Ren'er wears a pale red pottery coat, which is painted with 3 groups of patterns, interwoven by black and white arcs and diagonal lines, forming a variant of the front bird pattern, which looks mysterious and beautiful.

In particular, Tao Ren'er's head shape is particularly vivid, the face is lifelike, the facial features are exquisite, there is a nose, there are eyes, the nose is like a small garlic head, the small mouth is slightly open, and there is a small perforation in both ears, and then with the hairstyle of Qi Bangs, it looks fashionable and cute!

From the perspective of Tao Ren'er's "Qi Liu Hai'er", this is exactly the style of the ancient Qiang people's hair. The Qiang are the oldest indigenous people living on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.

Finally, experts also found a round hole in the top of Tao Ren'er's head, and speculated that this round hole should be used to hold the passage for wine.

Therefore, this pottery man is most likely a wine vessel, not an urn coffin that the villagers suspect!

Eventually, based on the characteristics of this potter, the experts gave her a nice name: a human head-shaped vessel mouth colored pottery vase.

In view of Zhang Delu's merit in handing over cultural relics, experts also made a special trip to his home, first thanking him for his 5 years of treasure protection, and then rewarding him with two brand-new washbasins.

Zhang Delu happily accepted it, in his opinion, although the "tao doll" is good-looking, the two washbasins are much more practical than it.

Later, this human head-shaped vessel mouth colored pottery vase was rated as a national first-class cultural relic because it was well preserved and had great archaeological and ornamental value.
