On December 24, CATL officially signed an agreement with the People's Government of Guizhou Province, in the future, the two sides will cooperate in depth in the construction of power exchange network facilities, and lay out a variety of scenarios such as highway power exchange and urban power exchange.

Since the beginning of this year, with the substantial growth of new energy vehicle sales, the power exchange industry has begun to usher in more and more participants.

According to enterprise investigation data, as of mid-December this year, there were more than 75,000 enterprises with business scope including "new energy vehicle power exchange", of which more than half (42,000) were newly established this year.

But at the same time, there are still some problems that need to be solved in the entire power exchange industry. The most important of these is that car companies are fighting their own battles and lacking unified industry standards.

In addition, there are also views that because the current power battery industry is still in the stage of technological development, power batteries are still non-stereotyped non-mature products. Once new battery technology emerges, there is a risk that the replacement power station built based on the previous generation of technology will be eliminated at any time.

Before signing a cooperation agreement with the Guizhou Provincial Government, CATL also cooperated with car companies to participate in the power exchange business. For example, in August 2020, CATL participated in the investment of Wuhan Weineng Battery Asset Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of NIO.

As for the entry into the field of power exchange as the main body, what new ways will the Ningde era be played? Can it promote the development of the power exchange industry into a new stage? Expect to see.
