In today's increasingly close globalization, how can Shanghai culture innovate and innovate on the basis of retaining genes and driving force? On December 26th, the "2021 No Questions Asked West East Invitation Exhibition" was launched at the China Art Palace.

In the exhibition hall, more than 200 groups of works by 70 artists from all over the world are gathered, including many masterpieces from the history of contemporary art. Zeng Chenggang introduced that "No Question West East" is another academic brand that the Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts has focused on building after "Wind from the Sea", and it is also an important stage for Xinhai school to appear in the world. "After six months of preparation, the exhibition aims to write cultural identities, highlight cultural postures, and build a new picture of more open and diverse international art through artistic exchanges and mutual learning in different cultural contexts."

More than 200 groups (pieces) of works by 70 artists resonate at the same frequency at the China Art Palace. Among these artists are Feng Yuan, Zeng Chenggang, Luo Zhongzhong, Xu Jiang, Pang Maokun, Su Xinping, Qiu Zhijie, and other deans of major art academies in China, as well as Toyomi Baoke from Tokyo University of the Arts, Ren Min and Jamie from the San Francisco Art Institute. Morgan, David Fraser of the Rhode Island Academy of Fine Arts, Ingrid M. Of the Royal Academy of Arts in Antwerp Ledent, Tim lee of the University of South Australia Gruse and Song Gang of the University of the Arts of Rome, among others.

It is worth mentioning that about half of the artists participating in the exhibition in Shanghai this time include Chen Jialing, Han Tianheng, Wang Jieyin, Zhang Peiji, Qiu Ruimin, Wang Dongling, Lu Fusheng, Zhang Deming, Jiang Jianzhong, Wang Jianguo, Zheng Xinyao and other artists born in the 1930s and 1950s, as well as young and middle-aged artists such as Xu Qinghua, Weng Jijun, Yang Jianping, Liu Jianhua, Li Lei, Jiang Tieli, Jin Jiangbo, Xia Yang, Mao Donghua, Bai Ying, Tang Kaizhi, Jin Hui, Sang Maolin, and Ding Shi. The subject matter of the works on display is rich and diverse, including Chinese painting, calligraphy, silver salt calligraphy, oil on canvas, acrylic on canvas, pencil on paper, seal engraving, silk coloring, rock painting, screen prints, copper engravings, lacquer plates, lithography, ceramics, sculptures, bronze statues, installation art, screens, digital art and other art forms.

The "2021 No Questions West-East Invitation Exhibition" exhibition not only shows the thinking of international and domestic artists on the collision of Eastern and Western cultures and artistic exchanges, but also shows the latest teaching and creation achievements of Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts and the exchange results of international art academies. In the process of preparing the exhibition "No Questions Asked", teachers and students of Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts actively participated, injecting vibrant young strength and new perspectives into the exhibition.

Communication and integration have always been the label of Shanghai, an international metropolis. The unique cultural environment has bred a unique art style and aesthetic genre - Haipai art. After the opening of the exhibition, the Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts and a number of institutions held an academic seminar on "The Future of Art Education in the Context of new liberal arts" at the Shanghai Mansion on the banks of the Huangpu River, discussing and discussing topics such as the connotative development of art education in the context of new liberal arts, the development of New Hai School and Shanghai art education. As the inheritor and practitioner of the Xinhai School, Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts hopes to take education as the base point, through the reorganization of the Hai school culture, keep pace with the times, carry forward the New Hai school, and have unique artistic coordinates in the world.
