Shen Guangyao (No Question West East Character)

You should remember the movie "No Questions Asked" released in 2018, right? There is a character in the movie called Shen Guangyao, I think you are still familiar with his story; the character I want to talk about today is Shen Chongjie, the prototype of Shen Guangyao.

Shen Chongjie was born in 1911 in Wuchang, Hubei Province, to a prominent family, his father was a well-known justice at the time, and his mother also came from a prominent family. Since childhood, Shen Chongzhi has received a patriotic education from his mother and has longed for the deeds of national heroes such as Yue Fei and Wen Tianxiang.

In the spring of 1920, Shen Chongjie entered the militarized Chengda Higher Primary School in Beijing; his own assessment was that the greatest gain from this experience was to change his bad temper that he was not afraid of.

In 1922, Shen Chongzhi entered Tianjin Nankai Middle School; however, because of his passion for sports, his academic performance was not good.

After understanding the problems facing China at that time - warlord chaos and Japanese invasion, Shen Chongzhi decided to change his original behavior and strive to become stronger. In 1928, Shen Chongzhi was admitted to Tsinghua University to study civil engineering.

After entering the university, Shen Chongzhi was determined to become the "talent needed" by the country (this is Shen Chongjie's original words, which can be seen in his autobiography), and he not only worked hard to achieve good results in his studies, but also actively participated in sports activities.

According to classmates' recollections, in a football final with a foreign school, Shen Chongjie's front teeth were unfortunately knocked down by the football, and the blood flowed non-stop; in order to win or lose twenty minutes, he did not go down, but held on.

In 1931, after the outbreak of the September 18 Incident, Shen Chongzhi hated the Japanese invasion very much. Shen Chongzhi launched and organized students to carry out demonstrations, but the effect was not very good; this made Shen Chongjie realize that it was impossible to resist Japan and save the country without organized and disciplined actions, and then gave rise to the idea of entering a military school and serving the country by example.

In 1932, Shen Chongjie, who graduated from Tsinghua University, was originally preparing to go to the northwest to participate in the development work; later, under the influence of his classmate Lin Wenkui, he decided to apply for the Central Aviation School. The reason why Shen Chongzhi had this choice change was because he once asked himself: "Which is the country's urgent task to serve the frontier or develop the northwest?" Japan's aggression against China made Shen Chongjie understand that serving the frontier was what the country needed most at that time; if the country was gone, what was the point of developing the northwest?

In December 1932, Shen Chongjie received a family letter, and his mother was critically ill. Hurried back to Shanghai, met his mother for the last time, and after the funeral, Shen Chongjie returned to the Central Aviation School, "I will abandon everything and serve the country loyally."

After rigorous training, Shen Chongzhi graduated from the Central Aviation School and stayed on to teach with excellent results. Half a year later, he was promoted to second lieutenant in the Air Force and officially became an instructor at the Aviation School.

In October 1936, Shen Chongzhi was transferred to the ninth detachment of the second air force brigade at Guangde Airport in Anhui Province, and was promoted to the rank of lieutenant of the air force.

In 1937, after the outbreak of the Battle of Songhu, Shen Chongjie participated in the battle with the Second Brigade. On August 19, 1937, Shen Chongjie received orders to bomb Japanese warships in BailongGang, Shanghai.

However, when Shen Chongzhi and Chen Xichun drove the plane to the aircraft over the Japanese fleet at Wusongkou, their aircraft malfunctioned and there was a danger of a volley explosion; Shen Chongzhi immediately decided to rush to the Japanese warship at the last moment and die together.

Although Shen Chongzhi decided on his future, he could not bear Chen Xichun's sacrifice and signaled him to parachute to escape. However, Chen Xichun was not afraid of sacrifice, and decided to die together, "We are all bodies, planes and bombs, and we should die together with the enemy's warship positions!" ”

A light bomber, No. 904, carrying a bomb, swooped down on the Japanese warship from a height of two thousand meters; the bomber exploded in the sea, and Shen Chongzhi practiced his self-exhortation of "serving the country with all his loyalty."

Shen Chongjie was only 26 years old when he died.

From his heroic deeds, we can see that Shen Chongjie had a strong sense of national mission, and when faced with the fact that the northwest was related to China's future and could be used as a base for long-term resistance, he was ready to go to the northwest to engage in large-scale development work; and in the face of Japanese aggression, he decided to devote himself to the battlefield and fight with Japanese aircraft and warships.

Mr. Zang Kejia commemorated Mr. Lu Xun and said: "Some people are alive, he is already dead; some people are dead, he is still alive." "I would like to say that Shen Chongzhi, who was loyal to the country and died with the Japanese warships, although he sacrificed, he still lives in the hearts of every one of our patriots.
