On December 24, the Guangdong Terminal Fast Charging Industry Association, led by China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, Huawei, OPPO, vivo, and Xiaomi, and jointly established by the United Nations terminal fast charging industry chain of terminal machines, chips, instruments, chargers, accessories, etc. was officially established. It is worth mentioning that this is also the first electronic consumer fast charging industry association in China.
According to industry analysts, at present, the fast charging protocol of various terminal manufacturers is seriously fragmented, and the establishment of the association will accelerate the promotion of domestic integration of fast charging new technologies, and the fast charging protocols that were incompatible with each other in terminal charging in the past are expected to achieve unification.
"The establishment of the Terminal Fast Charging Industry Association will help promote the implementation of integrated fast charging standards, promote the interconnection between different brands of mobile phones and adapters, and allow consumers to quickly charge anytime, anywhere." Liu Chang, vice president of OPPO and president of the research institute, said.
In addition, for the industry, the establishment of the association will also accelerate the integration of the upstream and downstream of the domestic terminal fast charging industry chain, and promote the benign and healthy development of the terminal fast charging ecology; for the whole society, it can enhance the reuse rate of different brands of chargers, reduce the generation of electronic waste, support carbon reduction and energy conservation and emission reduction, and conform to the industrial development trend of green environmental protection.
According to the data, the industry association began to prepare in early 2021, and the purpose of establishment is to accelerate the standardization of terminal fast charging technology and the industrialization of standards, gather the strength of all parties in the fast charging industry ecology, and jointly carry out research and application promotion of related application scenarios, needs, technologies and standards for the future fast charging industry.
The association will set up three expert groups, "Technical Committee" and "Technical Research Working Group", "Testing and Certification Working Group" and "Industrial Promotion Working Group", to promote the close integration of production, education and research, and actively build a good cooperation atmosphere and cooperation mechanism.
