Dr. Li Jie pointed out that computing power is the computing power of devices, clusters and platforms to process data, which is not only an important symbol of national competitiveness, but also the basic support of the digital economy era. As the computing power carrier for the operation of information systems in various industries, the computing power infrastructure has become an indispensable digital base for social operation. At present, the global computing power infrastructure industry is booming. In March 2020, China clearly proposed to accelerate the construction of new infrastructure, of which the information infrastructure represented by the computing infrastructure is the core component, and its importance is becoming increasingly prominent.
From the perspective of industrial development trend, the demand for diversified computing power will promote the substantial growth of the scale of computing power infrastructure, the general data center currently accounts for the highest proportion, more than 90%, and the scale of the data center will maintain an average annual growth rate of about 20% in the next few years; the intelligent computing demand will increase to more than 60% in the future According to the growth rate of AI infrastructure scale; the edge computing demand will become increasingly urgent with the advancement of 5G and industrial Internet construction, and the construction and deployment will be further accelerated. In the future, computing infrastructure will show important development trends such as computing heterogeneity, computing network collaboration, ubiquitous computing power, and green and low-carbon.
Proceeding from the current situation of industrial development, the Chinese Academy of Information and Communications Technology has formed a scientific and innovative computing infrastructure research framework.
