In 2012, Li Jiewei, a researcher at the Guangxi Institute of Botany, led a team to Longsheng to do multi-point experiments for new kiwi varieties. The people of longsheng mountainous area inhabited by many ethnic groups are enthusiastic and simple, and while the experiment has achieved phased results, Li Jiewei is also deeply attracted by the customs and customs here.

In view of these problems, Li Jiewei specially designed a kiwifruit anniversary management calendar, and at the same time, every year, at each critical period, she went to the scene to do technical training and guidance for farmers. Through several years of repeated field training and guidance, farmers have basically mastered the whole set of kiwi cultivation management techniques, and the fruits produced are not only beautiful in appearance, but also in good internal quality, sweet in flavor, and the selling price is more than 30 yuan per kilogram.

Over the years, Li Jiewei has traveled to and from Longsheng more than 20 times a year, and each round trip takes nearly 5 hours to drive, which is not only hard work but also accompanied by danger.

Once, a farmer in Lipai called Li Jiewei and said that the kiwi fruit planted was sick and the leaves were rotten, hoping that Li Jiewei could personally go to the orchard to help see what the problem was. That season was the season when the kiwifruit was ready to bloom, and Li Jiewei was very anxious to hear the farmer's description, worried about what condition would affect the flowering of the kiwi fruit of the farmer. After hanging up the phone, Li Jiewei immediately applied to the unit for a car to go to Longsheng, but at that time, the unit's cars were sent out, and Li Jiewei had to call a team member Mo Quanhui to drive to Longsheng by himself. On that day, the drizzle was misty, the road was relatively slippery, and the car turned sideways when it reached a turn in the middle of the road! Fortunately, the people on the car were not seriously damaged, but the body was a little damaged. After inspecting the condition of the car, Li Jiewei decided to continue to drive the car to the inner row, directly to the orchard of the farmer to check the incidence of the disease, and guide the use of drugs for the disease.

"Kiwifruit is both a cause I love and a heavy responsibility on my shoulders." Li Jiewei said that the small kiwi fruit carries the hope of the people in the mountainous areas to get rich, as a scientific researcher who has stuck to the post of science and technology commissioner for 8 years, she has the obligation and responsibility to pass on what she has learned to the farmers, and use science and technology to irrigate the happy fruit for the ethnic mountainous areas.

Today, in Guilin, many agricultural science and technology personnel have changed from science and technology commissioners in poor villages to science and technology commissioners for rural revitalization, and continue to sweat for villagers to get rich.

In 2021, Guilin will send a total of 658 science and technology commissioners, including agricultural technicians at the autonomous region, city and county (city, district) level.
