Tesla signed a one-year, $422 million contract with South Korean logistics company Hyundai Glovis. The latter will be responsible for shipping vehicles produced by Tesla at China's gigafactory to other regions. Tesla has spent much of 2021 using the Shanghai Gigafactory as an export hub for its vehicles.

Until this year, Tesla insisted that it would not use Shanghai-made vehicles as a supplementary inventory in other markets. At the beginning of the new year, however, the company changed its stance on the idea and began its export plans, shipping 7,000 Model 3s directly from Shanghai to Europe. This became one of the first shipments from China to other markets.
TradeWinds, a website that tracks global shipping, initially reported on the partnership. Hyundai Glovis said it was Hyundai Glovis' largest contract with a single automaker in the industry's thirteen-year history.
It is understood that Hyundai Glovis has three types of transportation services: overseas transportation of finished vehicles/bulk goods, bulk import and export, and RO-RO terminal operations.
It is not known where the vehicles will be shipped from Shanghai and whether the export deal includes some Chinese-made vehicles destined for the United States. Of course, hyundai Glovis is likely to ship the Model 3 from Shanghai to Europe, because although the Berlin Gigafactory may still start production by the end of this year, the model that will be produced in the initial production phase of the Zi'a factory will be the Model Y. In addition, some Model 3s may be shipped to the United States, because someone recently found a pure electric car made in Shanghai in Northern California. However, thanks to the Production of the Model 3 at the Fremont plant in Northern California, it is certain that most of the goods from Hyundai Glovis will be shipped from China to Europe.
