We all know that the Lotus Emira will be the last fuel sports car produced by the Lotus brand, the rest of the models will be discontinued, and the day has finally come. Recently, overseas media reported that Lotus Elise, Exige and Evora officially announced the suspension of production, which also means that the Lotus brand officially opened a new chapter under the leadership of Geely Group.

The three cars have been produced in total at 51,738 units (nearly half of Lotus's 73-year history), and with the official discontinuation of these three models, the assembly line will be dismantled and replaced with the latest and most advanced equipment to support the production of Emira, and the new car is expected to be put into production next spring, and the annual production is expected to reach 5,000 units.
Emira is based on a new sports car platform, the whole car applies a lot of aerodynamic design, in addition to bringing strong downforce and more calm handling in high-speed driving, but also always tell passers-by its own powerful performance. The Domestically sold Emira model will use the M139 2.0T engine of the high-power version of AMG, with a maximum power of 298 kW (405 hp) and a peak torque of 480 Nm, which is paired with an 8-speed DCT dual-clutch transmission.
Lotus has decided to take the all-electric route, the flagship Evija is currently driven by pure electric power, the maximum power reaches 1471 kW (2000 hp), and the chassis system is developed by Lotus and Williams Advanced Engineering (the Williams who has won the F1 manufacturer championship nine times).
