The 3rd Provincial Ice and Snow Games will be officially opened in Laiyuan, Baoding on December 26. Since 2019, our province has been the first in the country to hold the Ice and Snow Games year by year through hierarchical competitions and step-by-step advancement, and both the participating crowds and the quality of the event have made great progress and achieved "backgammon".

Multiple measures are taken to drive more people to the ice and snow, and more and more participants are participating

Nearly 5,000 people participated in the upcoming third provincial ice and snow games, with a record number of participants. Among them, 3699 athletes from 11 districted cities and 68 universities in Dingzhou, Xinji, Xiong'an New District and the province doubled the first ice and snow games in the province and increased by 68% compared with the second ice and snow games in the province.

The number of participants in the ice and snow games in cities and counties (cities and districts) in our province has also increased significantly. Since 2019, the number of participants in the Chengde Ice and Snow Games has increased at a rate of 30% per year. The Third Ice and Snow Games in Langfang city is the largest number of participants since 2019, with six groups: children's group, primary school group, junior high school group, high school group, university group and social group, with more than 2,000 direct participants.

"The number of participants in our district ice and snow games has achieved triple jumps in three years, with less than 1,000 people in the first session, more than 1,100 people in the second session, and more than 3,000 people in the third session this year." The number of participants in the provincial, municipal and county (city, district) three-level ice and snow games is increasing year by year, which is the result of our province's efforts to promote the popularization of mass ice and snow sports, open doors and run competitions, and attract the participation of the masses to the greatest extent.

The first provincial ice and snow games set up 6 major events and 101 small events, the second provincial ice and snow games set up 7 major events, 9 sub-events, 123 small events, the third provincial ice and snow games set up 7 major events, 17 sub-events, 342 small events, and the provincial youth annual championships are included, and the project coverage is getting wider and wider. Cities and counties (cities, districts) have also combined with reality to enrich the content of local ice and snow games events, and set up projects that the masses are willing to participate in, such as ice dragon boats, VR skiing, and ice and snow polo, which further enhances the attractiveness.

Last year, our province created the first provincial ice and snow league in the country as a qualifier for the provincial ice and snow games. The second provincial ice and snow league held this year further lowered the threshold for participation, advocating multi-subject participation, and there was no quota limit. This year, Hengshui City also began to hold ice and snow leagues at the city and county levels.

While preparing for the Provincial Ice and Snow Games, our province has strongly promoted the sinking of ice and snow sports to the grass-roots level, especially this year, the province has focused on the launch of community ice and snow games, so that the masses can participate in ice and snow events at their doorstep. Up to now, the province has achieved full coverage of the community ice and snow games. All communities and rural areas in Shijiazhuang city have carried out ice and snow experience activities, and all 2320 schools have carried out ice and snow culture festivals and ice and snow project courses.

According to statistics, as of the end of November, this year's ice and snow games at the provincial, municipal and county levels have directly led more than 4 million people to participate in ice and snow sports.

The "where to skate" problem is solved, and there are more real ice and snow events

On December 5th, the 3rd Provincial Ice and Snow Games Social Group and University Group Short Track Speed Skating Competition was held in Laiyuan County No. 1 Middle School Skating Hall. At the third ice and snow games of the province, ice hockey matches will also be held here.

"This skating hall was recently completed and is the first standard skating hall in Baoding." Wang Lei, director of the Ice and Snow Project Promotion Office of Laiyuan County Education and Sports Bureau, said that the grandstand of Laiyuan County No. 1 Middle School Skating Hall can accommodate 500 people to watch the game, and the ice rink is a standard ice rink of 1830 square meters, which can meet the needs of ice hockey, figure skating, curling, short track speed skating and other ice sports training competitions. The museum can also quickly realize the change of venue, holding basketball, badminton, table tennis and other events.

Most of the competitions of the third provincial ice and snow games were held in Laiyuan County. The county's Seven Mountains Ski Resort hosts all snow sports competitions, Laiyuan County Sanzhong Roller Skating Ground hosts roller skating competitions, Wanmu Huahai Roller Skating Field hosts skating competitions, and Blue Whale Air Film Stadium hosts land curling competitions.

Laiyuan is the epitome of the rapid development of ice and snow venue facilities in our province. In the past three years, our province has taken the Ice and Snow Games as the traction, and has taken the strengthening of ice and snow stadium facilities, especially the construction of indoor skating halls, as a basic project to grasp, and strive to solve the problem of "where to skate". At present, the province has built a total of 202 skating halls, realizing that counties and counties have indoor skating halls, of which 20 are standard real ice halls with an area of 1830 square meters; at the same time, 109 ski venues of various types have been built, and the total number of ice and snow venues has jumped to the first place in the country.

From the perspective of local conditions, at present, Zhangjiakou City has 9 ski resorts and 20 skating halls; Baoding City and County have successively built and put into use 21 indoor skating halls, 26 outdoor skating rinks and 12 ski resorts; Chengde City and County have built 15 indoor public skating halls, with Yuanbaoshan Ski Resort, Saihanba Ski Resort and other ski resorts, and 12 ski tracks of Jinshanling International Ski Resort will be completed and put into use. Zhangjiakou, Chengde, Baoding and Shijiazhuang all have the ability to host provincial ice and snow games.

With the increase of ice and snow venues, this year's ice and snow games in various places and universities, primary and secondary schools are held in the ice hockey, short track speed skating and other sports are held in the skating hall, ensuring the ornamentality of the competition and the level of athletes. The 3rd Zhangjiakou Ice and Snow Games set up a total of 7 real ice and snow competitions, which further increased the proportion of real ice and real snow competitions compared with the previous real ice and snow competitions. Weichang Manchu Mongol Autonomous County has successively carried out 9 real ice and snow competitions, so that the masses can enjoy the fun of ice and snow sports.

Drive the growth of the ice and snow referee team in the province, and the level is constantly improved

On December 14, the cross-country skiing competition of the 3rd Provincial Ice and Snow Games ended. Zhang Rongkui, a national referee, is the competition leader of the project, and he also serves as the competition leader of the skating project.

"This ice and snow games set up a referee team in accordance with the national event standards, and invited a number of domestic authoritative referees to referee." Jiang Lei, a staff member of the Competition Department of the Third Provincial Ice and Snow Games, said that Yu Mingyan, the technical representative of cross-country skiing and roller skating projects, is an international referee and will referee the Beijing Winter Olympic Games; the chief referee of the land curling project is Yang Jian, the national referee of curling, the chief referee of roller skating is Wang Bo, the national referee of roller skating, and the technical representative of roller skating is Guo Yuliang, an international referee of roller skating.

At the same time, the number of "local" referees in our province is increasing and the level is constantly improving. Jiang Lei told reporters that in the past, the cross-country skiing and roller skating projects of the Provincial Ice and Snow Games were almost all referees outside the province, and the provincial referees in the two projects accounted for half of them. The roller skating events of the Third Provincial Ice and Snow Games accounted for two-thirds of the provincial referees, and snow football was almost all provincial referees.

It is understood that in order to accelerate the training of ice and snow project referees, since 2015, our province has continued to promote the "provincial training plan" and "young eagle plan", in 2017, there were only 43 referees at the national level or above in ice and snow projects, 163 in 2019, and now it has increased to 430 people, including 362 national first-level referees, 65 national referees, and 3 international referees.

Referees in ice and snow projects around the world have also achieved from scratch, from less to more. At first, the local referees of ice and snow events in Zhangjiakou City were stretched thin; today, the city has trained more than 1,700 ice and snow project referees and mass ice and snow event organizers, and all counties and districts have the ability to independently organize ice and snow events. Since 2019, Chengde City has increased the number of national first-level referees and about 100 national second-level referees in ice and snow projects every year, and there are currently nearly 30 national first-level referees and more than 300 national second-level referees.

At present, the number of second-level referees for ice and snow projects who are trained and issued certificates by relevant municipal departments basically meets the needs of referees at the municipal and county levels. In order to pass on local referees, many cities also invite national-level referees to administer.

Wang Dong, deputy director of the Winter Sports Center of the Provincial Sports Bureau, said that the high-level ice and snow project referee training in our province this year is still continuing, and 84 people have obtained the national first-level referee qualification, which is expected to increase to about 100 by the end of the year.
