The Story of Ganjiang Mo Evil 【Selected Chinese Folk Legends】

Gan Jiang and Mo Xie were originally a couple who forged swords together, because they forged two ancient male and female swords, named after their names Gan General and Mo Xie respectively, so their names became synonymous with the best swords in the world.

The Story of Ganjiang Mo Evil 【Selected Chinese Folk Legends】

At first, Gan will learn the art of sword casting with Ou Yezi. Both of them were extremely gifted, and eventually reached the peak of their achievements, and no one in the world could compare with their brothers and masters. Later, General Gan and Ou Yezi jointly forged the three swords of "Longyuan", "Tai'a" and "Gongbu", even if they were completely out of the division.

After completing their studies, they bid farewell to their masters and returned to their respective countries.

The general returned to the Kingdom of Wu and married his wife Mo Xie, the two of them, who usually relied on casting some daily iron tools for others to make a living. They sometimes forge swords, but very few, and they don't forge swords unless they have to, because they know that bad things will always happen when swords are forged, so it is better to cast fewer.

Speaking of Ou Yezi, he returned to the Chu Kingdom. It coincided with the fact that the concubine of the King of Chu was pregnant by holding iron, and soon gave birth to a piece of green iron. The King of Chu knew that this was a treasure, extremely rare, and was determined to forge it into a sword. So he issued a summons to search for the famous sword casting masters in the territory of the Chu Kingdom, and soon found Ou Yezi. Ou Yezi spent three years and used a virgin boy as a blood guide, and finally forged a sharp sword for the king of Chu.

At this time, Wu Guozheng was at war with the Chu State, and King Wu heard that the King of Chu had obtained a fine sword that cut gold like earth, and he also wanted to create a sword that was better than the sword of the King of Chu. He then sent someone to find General Gan and Mo Xie and ordered them to build a better sword in two years.

In fact, the sword-making technology of the Gan General was higher than that of Ou Yezi, but the Gan General did not have the same good iron as Ou Yezi's sword, so he cast more than ten swords for King Wu in succession, and took it to try it with the Sword of king Chu, and each time it was cut off by king Chu's sword. For this reason, King Wu was very angry, so he gave the general Mo Xie a death period: if you can't forge a better sword in the remaining year, you both will have to be executed.

Therefore, the general could not bear the hardships and painstaking efforts to collect the "iron essence of the five mountains and the golden ying of the liuhe", and finally found a piece of pure green and transparent treasure iron. This iron chill is compelling and dazzling. So The cadres and Mo Xie cast a high platform, "waiting for the heavens and the earth, yin and yang with the same light", using the best charcoal, the wind was blowing, and the raging fire was lit, and this piece of iron was placed in the furnace and burned. That magnificent scene also attracted the attention of a hundred gods. But it burned for ten months, and it seemed that the deadline was about to pass. However, no matter how the cadres blew the wind, no matter how Mo Xie added firewood, the piece of treasure iron just did not melt at all.

The dragon's expression became more and more solemn, and the general raised his head to look at the distance, and said in a low but very calm voice, "This is a strange treasure, it will not melt without splashing blood on it!" After saying this, he slashed his wrist with his sword and dripped blood into the red treasure iron in the furnace. Mo Xie also bit her finger to let the blood drip in. When their blood merged and stained the iron, the iron slowly melted, followed by a cloud of green smoke, and then a cold breath struck. The moment the lid of the furnace was opened, the heavens and the earth instantly changed color, the wind and clouds surged, and a thick white mist emerged from the furnace, quickly filling the sky, completely enveloping the sword casting platform, and then a cloud of illusory light appeared overhead, and in the cooled dark furnace, there were two swords.

They finally forged two swords that were unique in the world: the Gan General Sword and the Mo Evil Sword. They also used the clearest spring water in the back mountain to spit out the sword, and carved the couple's names on it. The male sword is engraved with the word "Ganjiang" in Yang, and the female sword is engraved with the word "Mo Evil" in Yin.

However, they are overdue. Overdue is to be killed, of course, the cadre will know. At this time, Mo Xie was also pregnant. Unwilling to bother his wife, the general took the female sword with him to see King Wu alone. King Wu was furious and killed the general.

Shortly after Gan's death, Mo Xie gave birth to his son Chi. Chi was born, his appearance is very peculiar, and the distance between the two lines of eyebrows is one foot wide, so people call him "ruler between eyebrows". When Chi grew up, he asked his mother where his father had gone. His mother told him: "Your father forged a sword for King Wu, but he was not able to complete it within the stipulated time, and he was ruthlessly killed by King Wu." He told me one thing when he left, and now that you're older, I'll tell you. Your father said that after leaving the house, if you look up the south mountain, you will see a pine tree growing on a stone, and if you split the back of the tree, you can find a sword. ”

Hearing his mother's words, Chi stood in front of his house and looked south, but saw no mountain, only the pine pillar in front of the house, which stood on the cushion stone below. Chi suddenly understood. He used his axe to split the back of the sword and found the sword that had been hidden for seventeen years and was shining coldly. Aka gets the sword and thinks about avenging his father day and night.

The next day, Chi bid farewell to his mother and went to the capital of the State of Wu to seek revenge on King Wu.

Besides, King Wu suddenly had a strange dream about a child, armed with a sword, trying to avenge his father, whose eyebrows were a foot apart. So King Wu hurriedly arrested everyone whose eyebrows were one foot apart and offered a heavy reward.

When Chi heard the news, he hid in a remote place alone and cried. His mournful cries touched a passing swordsman dressed in black. So the swordsman walked toward him along with a cry. The black-clad swordsman walked over and looked at it, very surprised, and found that the child in front of him was the child that King Wu had offered a reward, so he crouched down and asked the reason for the matter with concern. Chi told the swordsman the ins and outs of his revenge. When the swordsman saw that this child was so determined, he couldn't help but say thoughtfully, "I can avenge you!" But I have to take your head and that sword with me to kill King Wu!" Only then can we avenge you. ”

Chi silently nodded, and immediately pulled out the "Gan General" sword, cut off his own head, and handed it to the swordsman along with the sword, but his body still stood still, until the swordsman said to him, "Rest assured, I will not fail you!" Only then did Aka's body fall.

The black-clad swordsman went to see King Wu with a red head and a sword of "Gan General", and King Wu was very pleased. The swordsman said: "This is the head of hatred, which must be boiled in hot water to eliminate its hatred." King Wu then, according to the swordsman's words, boiled boiling water in a mouthful of dading. But for three days and three nights, he did not boil his head. King Wu went to the edge of ding to look at it, only to see that the head suddenly jumped out and grabbed King Wu's nose. The swordsman on the side slashed King Wu's head into boiling water with only one sword, and then the swordsman also cut off his own head and put it in Dingli. The three heads were boiled to smithereens in a short time, becoming a sticky soup, and it was completely impossible to distinguish which was King Wu, which was Chi, and which was a swordsman.

In the end, people divided the contents of the pot into three parts for burial, and each built a tomb, commonly known as the "Tomb of the Three Kings".
