Li Jinxian is a contemporary Chinese female sculptor, now a professor and master tutor of the Sculpture Department of Xiamen Academy of Arts and Crafts of Fuzhou University, her sculpture works have distinct personalities, the main body is mostly a female figure with a plump body, a beautiful posture, and a body full of flowers, using bold colors to express warm emotions and attention to female themes.

For Li Jinxian, who studied, worked, lived and grew up in Gulangyu Island, Xiamen, Gulangyu Island has become the peach blossom source in her heart. For decades, she has always devoted herself to creation, integrated the greatest enthusiasm into creation, and was one of the first sculptors in China to combine China's thousand-year-old lacquer art with sculpture.

Walking into the museum, you will be greeted by fat women with plump bodies dancing "without touching the ground", women full of flowers blooming with "heavy makeup", some molds with Gulangyu elements showing the inheritance marks, and flying fish and caged cranes born during the epidemic period, abruptly "self-describing" the whole process of living in harmony with nature.

Li Jinxian not only combines sculpture with lacquer art, and uses the "art" of traditional lacquer art to express the modern "shape" and "meaning", but also integrates interesting and characteristic traditional cultural elements into his works, such as the "turtle" in southern Fujian and the large flower cloth in northeast China.

It is reported that this exhibition not only brings together Li Jinxian's representative series of works such as "Flower Rhyme", "Flower Blossom" and "Mermaid", but also presents her newly created "Love House" series. The exhibition is named "Gulang Imprint", Li Jinxian said, because these works are mainly created by her on Gulangyu Island. Gulangyu's long-term life and work experience has also subtly influenced her creative style.

As the curator of this exhibition, Li Jinxian's son Zhang Han said that the "Gulang Imprint" is Li Jinxian's most direct concern for Gulangyu Island, "The body that carries the concept of independent women is not necessarily the human body, but also the flowers and plants on the island as a metaphor." Zhang Han believes that women and flowers are synonymous with two kinds of beauty, and the appearance of Yi Lao is linked to the most beautiful flowers, which may also be the original motivation of Li Jinxian's creation.

The exhibition is guided by the Publicity Department of the Xiamen Municipal Party Committee and hosted by the Xiamen Academy of Arts and Crafts of Fuzhou University and the Xiamen Art Museum.
