"Looking back on my father's life, it is most appropriate to describe him as a 'tough guy.'" In the eyes of his daughter Lin Yu, Lin Yuhao has always been a "tough guy" image that stands tall in the sky, and his "tough guy" nature is reflected in his humble temperament and diligent and simple attitude towards life, reflected in his indomitable will to fight against diseases many times, and even more reflected in his unremitting pursuit and love for artistic creation throughout his life.
In 1964, Lin Yuhao graduated from the Sculpture Department of the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, and in the same year was assigned to the Guangdong Provincial Institute of Arts and Crafts; in 1970, he was transferred to the Guangzhou Sculpture Room to engage in professional creation. In 1975, Nanjing Yuhuatai collected the design draft of the martyrs' monument sculpture from the whole country, and all the creative staff of the sculpture room put in the creation, and after many screenings and program modifications, it was finally determined that the third draft of the "Nine-Person Plan" created by Lin Yuhao was the main group portrait of the large-scale martyrs' monument. The group portrait vividly portrays the indomitable image of 9 revolutionary heroes before they bravely and righteously, including workers and intellectuals who wear shackles and despise the enemy, female cadres who are calm and self-assured, and peasants with angry eyes, each of whom is portrayed vividly and ready to come out. The work gives full play to the artistic language of stone carving, the facial expressions of the exquisitely carved characters, the bold body lines, the combination of choice and choice, and the combination of virtual and real, showing a strong visual impact.
Since then, Lin Yuhao has ushered in the busiest and most prosperous period of his artistic career, creating excellent sculptures such as "New Flower", "Hope", "Endorsement", "Gunshots of dawn", "Milk" and many gouache paintings. Among them, his sculpture "Deer Return" created in 1985 has become a classic of the times.
