On the 15th, the CCTV reporter of the General Radio Bureau learned from the Natural Resources Comprehensive Survey Command Center of the China Geological Survey that the public security organs conducted forensic examinations on four geological surveyors, Zhang Jinbang, Yang Min, Liu Yu, and Zhang Yu, who died in the line of duty in the Ailao Mountains, Yunnan: 4 people died of cardiogenic shock caused by low temperature, and poisoning and mechanical injury were excluded. According to the joint on-site investigation of experts in the fields of public security, geology, meteorology, environment, communications, forestry, and mountain rescue, it is believed that the reasons for the death of the 4 people are mainly: excessive physical exertion caused by long-term climbing, instantaneous winds in the area of the incident, and sudden temperature drops.

On November 13, 2021, four geological surveyors entered the area from Zhenyuan County to Xinping County in the hinterland of Ailao Mountain in Yunnan Province to carry out the special task of the national annual forest resources survey, and disappeared at 16:00 on November 14. After the disappearance of the incident, the central leading comrades attached great importance to it, the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government, together with relevant departments, went all out to organize search and rescue, a total of more than 8,000 person-times were invested, 10 helicopters and more than 50 unmanned aerial vehicles were used, and the search and rescue team found that 4 people had no vital signs at 18:33 on November 21 and 8:32 on the 22nd, and unfortunately died in the line of duty. At about 22:00 on the 23rd, the remains were transported down the mountain after 38 hours. From November 24 to December 5, forensic examinations and joint site surveys were completed.

Recently, the list of "good people in Yunnan" in 2021 was announced, and the names of the four staff members of the China Geological Survey who were killed in Ailao Mountain were all ranked in the dedication group.
