In terms of production, China's canned vegetable processing and production is mainly concentrated in the northwest region, central and southern regions, the products produced are canned mushrooms, canned tomato sauce, canned small white mushrooms, canned bamboo shoots, canned asparagus, canned cowpea, canned broad beans and other products.
According to the "2021-2025 Vegetable Canned Industry In-depth Market Research and Investment Strategy Recommendation Report" released by the New Thought Industry Research Center, in terms of import and export, China is a canned vegetable export country, and the import volume of canned vegetables is small, and the domestic canned vegetable import volume in 2019 is about 12,000 tons, while in terms of exports, China's canned vegetable exports in 2019 are about 1.61 million tons. In terms of the analysis of the export structure of domestic canned vegetables, other canned mushrooms have the highest export volume, accounting for about 33%, followed by canned ketchup with a weight greater than 5kg, accounting for about 16%, canned vegetables accounting for 10%, and the subsequent export ratio of canned mushrooms, bamboo shoots, asparagus, cowpeas and other canned slags has not exceeded 10%.
However, as far as the single product is concerned, in addition to the canned tomatoes, the proportion of canned small white mushrooms in the country is relatively high, and the export volume of small white mushrooms in China in 2019 is about 160,000 tons, followed by canned bamboo shoots, with an export volume of about 102,000 tons, and the export volume of canned asparagus is about 50,000 tons.
In terms of production, the more representative canned fruit and vegetable production enterprises in China at present include Xinjiang Zhongji Tomato Products, Coconut Tree Group, Jinzhou Zhongbang Food, Rongtai Food, Guobin Food, Minzhong Organic Food, COFCO, Taifu Food, Unified Enterprise, Meilin Zhengguanghe, Santang Food, Purple Mountain Group, etc. With the gradual maturity of the domestic vegetable canning market, under the pressure of high competition, domestic vegetable canning enterprises actively expand overseas markets, and Central Asia, the Middle East and Africa and other regions have development potential in the future.
New Thinking Industry Analysts said that China is a big agricultural country, and the yield of vegetables is high, which is conducive to the development of the canned vegetable industry. After decades of development, China's canned vegetable market is relatively mature, demand tends to be stable, and domestic canned vegetable production has shown a downward trend. At present, domestic vegetable canning enterprises actively layout overseas markets, China's canned vegetable exports are relatively high, and there are still development opportunities in overseas markets in the future.
