The Republic of China period was a very complicated era, where many advanced figures emerged, and at the same time there were warlords of various factions who fought openly and secretly. One of the warlords was named Sun Dianying, who was not very famous originally, and his personal ability was not particularly excellent, but he was known to the world because of the Tanglin treasure theft case. Because Sun Dianying excavated the tombs of Cixi and Qianlong in the Eastern Qing Dynasty, resulting in the loss of many funerary objects in large quantities, Sun Dianying was also subjected to many insults, but his descendants were completely different from him, did not enter his old path, or were admired by thousands of people.
Sun Dianying has been very naughty since he was a child, and even at the age of seven, he put fire to the private school building and was expelled from school and returned home. When he grew up, he wanted to break through the world, so he began to join the army. After Sun Dianying had been tempered in the army for a long time, his ability gradually became prominent, and finally the team he led became the subordinate of the Fengzhi warlord Zhang Zongchang. Sun Dianying made many contributions under Zhang Zongchang's subordinates and was sent to various places to organize military activities many times.
Later, when Sun Dianying was engaged in battle with the National Revolutionary Army, he was beaten into the wilderness and fled, and finally under the instigation of He Chengjun, he threw himself into Chiang Kai-shek's men, and his troops were absorbed. In 1928, Ma Lanyu, next to the Qing Tombs, was extremely restless, and Ma Futian and other bandits wanted to ambush and steal treasures here. Because there were especially many bandits in this area, Sun Dianying was sent to eliminate these bandits. After receiving the order, Sun Dianying immediately set off for the Qing Dongling Tombs and drove away the bandits who were entrenched near the Qing Dongling Tombs. When he saw the temple near the Qing Dongling Tomb, he also had a crooked mind.
Therefore, Sun Dianying used the pretext that he wanted to conduct military exercises near the Qing Dongling Tombs and drove away the people nearby, and even the guards of the Qing Dongling Tombs were driven away by Sun Dianying, and he was secretly plotting how to steal the treasures inside the Qing Dongling Tombs. Sun Dianying sealed off the Qing Tombs very tightly, and people outside did not know what he was doing inside. When Sun Dianying arranged the path for the theft of treasures, he broke into the Qing Tombs to carry out excavations, blew open Cixi's Dingdong Tombs, and frantically transported valuable jade jewelry and other items outside.
Qianlong's mausoleum was also looted by Sun Dianying, and dozens of boxes of gold and silver jewelry were loaded away. After the theft of the Qing Tombs, the Manchu Qing elders were very dissatisfied with this and demanded that Sun Dianying be punished, but Sun Dianying took many of the good things inside and bribed the officials, so he was not seriously punished. Sun Dianying's move has been criticized by many people, and people have accused him of causing the country to lose many cultural relics. Until now, when some people mention Sun Dianying, they are still in a state of gritted teeth. Although Sun Dianying's reputation is not very good, his son Sun Tianyi is different from his father.
Sun Tianyi did not meet much with his father since he was a child, but grew up with his mother. The things about his father's theft of the Qing Tombs were also known from the mouths of his mother and others. Under the guidance of his mother, Sun Tianyi loved to learn from an early age, and later served as the vice president of the China Translators Association and the vice president of the China Education Association for International Exchange. He was not influenced by his father, but became a very successful person.
