Everyone heard more stories about "Seven Fairies and Dong Yong". However, little is known about the origin of the city of Xiaogan in Hubei Province. In fact, the origin of the name of Xiaogan in Hubei is because of Dong Yong.

Dong Yong is said to have been a Qiancheng man (present-day Gaoqing, Shandong) during the Eastern Han Dynasty, who lost his mother at a very young age, when the soldiers were in chaos, and in order to escape the war, he moved with his father to Anlu (present-day Hubei). Unfortunately, the good times were not long, lack of clothes and food, and soon after, my father died in Hubei. At this time, although Dong Yong had become a handsome teenager, he was penniless and could not bury his father, but only got a local rich peasant family to sell himself into slavery in exchange for some silver, buy a coffin for his father, and make some funeral expenses.

One day, Dong Yong was on his way to work, under an ancient locust tree, he met a beautiful woman, who came forward to Dong Yong and said that she was homeless, and asked if he could go home with him? Dong Yong said with embarrassment, "My family is surrounded by disciples, and I am destitute, and if you follow me, you will suffer!" The woman said sincerely, "I am not afraid!" Because I can weave! So Dong Yong happily brought the woman home.

Since then, Dong Yong has gone to work in the rich peasants' homes every day, while the women have spun threads and knitted fabrics at home. The capable woman actually woven more than three hundred brocades in a month's time, and she did not hesitate to sell the brocade and redeem dong Yong for the debt. On the way home, Dong Yong walked to the shade of the locust where they met, and the woman told Dong Yong: "I am the youngest daughter of the Heavenly Emperor, the Seven Fairies, and your filial piety has touched the Heavenly Emperor, and I have come down to the mortal world to help you pay your debts!" Now that the debt is still playing, the time has come for me to return to heaven. "The Seven Fairies finished their words and flew away!" Dong Yong looked up at the sky, as if he had lost it! Tears wet the placket! ......

Until now, in order to commemorate the story of "Seven Fairies and Dong Yong", people have changed the original "Huaiyin" to the current "Xiaogan City"! Xiaogan City, Hubei Province, is famous throughout the country for the story of Dong Yong, the filial son of the Eastern Han Dynasty, who sold himself to bury his father and performed filial piety. Today, Xiaogan City, which is developed, is one of the cities with the most development potential and competitiveness in central China. So far, there are still statues of seven fairies and Dong Yong in Xiaogan City!
