The "King of Recall" in China? Mercedes-Benz has recalled nearly 2.8 million vehicles on 15 occasions this year

In the general impression, Mercedes-Benz as a luxury car brand, product quality should not be a problem in pieces, but looking at Mercedes-Benz's recall records in the past two years, it has been called the "king of recall" in China.

According to media statistics, Mercedes-Benz has launched a total of 15 recall operations in China this year, recalling 2778791 vehicles. Among them, the largest single recall exceeded 2.6 million vehicles. Just recently, Mercedes-Benz recalled 342366 new cars in the United States because of the "black screen" of the display screens of these cars.

In fact, as the year draws to a close, Mercedes-Benz has not broken the recall record it set last year. In 2020, Mercedes-Benz launched a total of 18 recall campaigns, recalling more than 800,000 vehicles. Last year's Mercedes-Benz recalled more vehicles, although not as many as this year.

Among the cars recalled by Mercedes-Benz, the imported S-Class should be the most recalled model, and the number of individual recalls has exceeded 29,952. There are two main problems of the car: one is that the software of the vehicle airbag control unit module does not meet the requirements and there are safety hazards; the other is that there is a problem with the software of the vehicle's communication module control unit, or there is a problem with the software program settings, which also has a safety hazard.

Relevant data show that Mercedes-Benz delivered 1.6175 million passenger cars worldwide in the first three quarters, of which 592,200 in the Chinese market, accounting for about 36%.
