IT House December 15 news, according to onMSFT reported that Microsoft may have abandoned the plan to provide Microsoft Launcher launcher updates through monthly security updates on Surface Duo and Surface Duo 2. The Microsoft Launcher on the original Surface Duo just got a big update that visually reached the level of the new Surface Duo 2.
IT Home learned that now, this new Microsoft launcher version is 6.211102.0.1017440, bringing some of the visual design of surface Duo 2 to surface Duo 1. This includes a new app for drawing, which now has more rounded corners and a grab bar at the top. Even "Your Profile" has been updated with more transparency and rounding, with elements from modern design in Windows 11.
The official Microsoft changelog is as follows:
The feed and overall design of the launcher are updated.
The newsfeed experience has been enhanced.
The switch between work and personal apps has been improved.
Additional filtering options can now be used to improve the search.
Other known bugs have been fixed and improved.
We're still waiting for the Surface Duo to upgrade to Android 11, which Microsoft previously promised to push by the end of the year. But with less than 15 days left in 2021, Microsoft still hasn't seen anything to be seen.
