Eastern Wu dreamed of retaking Jingzhou, but this time with Cao Cao's promise, Sun Quan was even more determined to take advantage of Guan Yu's attack on Fancheng and Jingzhou's empty army to seize Jingzhou, so he summoned Lü Meng overnight to discuss the plan.
When Fancheng could not be attacked for a long time, Guan Yu actually transferred all the troops of Jingzhou to Fancheng, although under the reinforcement of Jingzhou's troops, Guan Yu took Fancheng, but at this time Jingzhou was basically an empty city, Lü Meng took the opportunity to disguise through white robes, all the way the soldiers did not pull out the checkpoint without bloodshed, and occupied Jingzhou without any effort, and the Wu army moved quickly, and the nine counties of Jingxiang soon fell into the hands of Eastern Wu. After Guan Yu knew that Jingzhou was lost, he was angry and frustrated and waved his army back to aid Jingzhou, at this time it was too late, the walls of Jingzhou were strong, and the Wu army was heavily guarded, and Guan Yu had to retreat to Maicheng.
Neither Cao Cao nor Eastern Wu would easily let Guan Yu go, so the two sides attacked Guan Yu, and Guan Yu was unfortunately beheaded by Lü Meng and was left in a different place. When Liu Bei heard this, he was furious and sent an army of one million to attack Eastern Wu, and as a result, he was burned by Lü Meng for seven hundred miles at Yiling, and suffered a major defeat and heavy losses. The Shu state had just been established, and as a result, the elite of the Shu state were lost in the Battle of Yiling.
