Ms. Meng said she wanted to write about people who were "half underground and eager to surface." As its latest collection of novels, "Amateur Player" is composed of three stories: "Please Cheer for Me", "Amateur Player" and "Cool Beijing", and the protagonists of the three stories are Sun Chuangchuang, Chairman Fei and Su Ling'er. "Please Cheer for Me" tells the story of the rock and roll critic Sun Chuang breaking into the dream showbiz to write a script, but was framed by friends; "Amateur Player" tells the story of Sun Chuangchuang, as a keyboard player, and the ghost makes The God send the same stage with the previous band to compete in a talent show; "Cool Beijing" tells the love story of Sun Chuangchuang and Su Ling'er.

These three stories reflect each other and complement each other, and together shape the character of Sun Chuangchuang, who loves music, is sincere and simple, and is unwilling to compromise on fate. In the three stories, Sun Chuang's career, dreams, and fate are not the same, and Meng Xiaoshu uses this way to create the three personalities of Sun Chuang, interweaving a sense of confusion in life like a dream. Three stories can be three possibilities, three angles, or three different time periods. The three grandsons can contradict each other or support each other. In short, the author Meng Xiaoshu proposed a concept called "Sun Chuang Chuang", which is the sum of a group of urban youth, which covers all the dark hearts and positive desires.
