On December 14, the press conference of the 2021 China Native Folk Song Festival (hereinafter referred to as the "Folk Song Festival") was held in Chongqing. With the theme of "Singing a Beautiful New Life", this folk song festival aims to comprehensively display the traditional folk songs of various regions and ethnic groups in China, and build a platform for the display, exchange and promotion of traditional folk songs and representative projects of national intangible cultural heritage in traditional music. The event will be held in Chongqing from December 17 to 19.

Closely focusing on the theme of "Singing a Beautiful New Life", after the recommendation of various provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) and the selection of experts, the 39 exhibition and performance teams and 191 non-hereditary inheritors of the Chinese Native Folk Song Festival will finally be determined to participate in the exhibition, and the performance program will be mainly based on the national intangible cultural heritage representative projects of traditional music, including field songs, mountain songs, trumpets, fishing songs, minor keys and traditional folk songs of ethnic minorities.
During the event, all districts and counties in Chongqing will also strictly implement the requirements of epidemic prevention and control, and carry out more than 70 native folk songs into scenic spots in 64 tourist attractions above the 4A level, driving the popularization and promotion of native folk songs and traditional music, and promoting the deep integration of intangible cultural heritage and tourism.

The organizing committee of the event carried out the collection of native folk song papers for the whole country, selected 28 excellent papers to edit and publish "The Inheritance and Development of Native Folk Songs - Proceedings of the 2021 Chinese Native Folk Songs Academic Symposium", and will hold an online indigenous folk song symposium. The official website of Chongqing Library plans to launch a special exhibition of Chinese folk songs, which integrates texts, history, figures, notation, instruments, sounds and images, and the audience can understand the development context and distribution characteristics of Chinese folk songs through online exhibitions.
