Whether it is the flying capture of Luding Bridge in the Era of the Red Army or the rushing attack of Sanshouli in the Volunteer Army period, it shows the fact that this infantry-based unit can run and fight.
Also on the Korean battlefield, if you can run, the volunteer army may not be a first-class master at all times, because South Korean soldiers are sometimes more able to run - usually limited to escape.
During the first campaign, the 118th Division of the 40th Army took the lead in engaging the Roks in Onjeong, which was the first time that the volunteer army went abroad to fight. The combat effectiveness of the main division of the whirlwind column was naturally not covered, and the Rok army of a reinforced battalion was certainly not enough to fight.
However, after the war, the results of the battle were counted, killing 325 enemies and capturing 161 prisoners, which is not the entire number of men and horses in a battalion, because this battalion even ran more than 400 people.
The South Korean soldiers ran away from no one, and the 2 U.S. military advisers who belonged to this Rok army were killed and the other was captured alive. At that time, the volunteers were a little surprised, and some veterans later recalled: Seeing that their hands had caught the neck collar, they still ran, until there was really no way, and the gun was on the head.
The 118th Division later returned to Chushan to annihilate the only ROK 7th Infantry Company that had reached the Yalu River, with 3,600 men on its chart, and still more than 800 people ran bare-butt to the south bank of the Cheongcheon River.
This directly led to the "shrinking" of the record of the 40th Army: the Rok army that was clearly annihilated was there, but the statistical data of killing and wounding prisoners was only more than 5600 people. The US military in charge of commanding the ROK army is also a headache, and although some of the ROK troops have fled back one after another, they do not have the combat capability.
What made the US military even more angry was that the ROK army not only had a serious rout of the defeated army, but also the Scud kung fu of the entire formation unit. In the Battle of Unsan, the volunteer army originally fought according to the ROK army, and immediately after discovering that it was the US army, the ROK army replaced by the US army ran as soon as it saw that it had started to fight, resulting in the US 8th Cavalry Regiment being surrounded and beaten by the volunteer army and suffering a annihilating blow.
By the time of the second campaign, the Korean army's skill of "golden cicadas shedding its shell" was once again exerted. In this battle, the 38th Army and the 42nd Army of the Volunteer Army attacked the Han 7th Division in Tokugawa and the Han 8th Division in Ningyuan, respectively. The 38th Army also saw the Rok Army's ability to run very well.
In this battle, in order to wrap the dumplings of the Koreans, the reconnaissance detachment of the 38th Army surprised the Wuling Bridge to cut off the enemy's retreat. After the start of the battle, the Han 7th Division was naturally not an opponent, except for the Han 3rd Regiment retreating to the US position (the regiment was also mistakenly beaten by the US army), the direct subordinate units of the Han 7th Division and most of the Han 5th Regiment and 8th Regiment were annihilated.
According to the results, the figure on the record table of the 38th Army at the Battle of Tokugawa is more than 3,100 people. Where are the rest of the Korean army? Some ran, some hid. Because the 38th Army still had to be interspersed with three institutes, it did not carefully search the mountains to capture prisoners, otherwise the numbers on the battle record list would be even more.
But on the side of the US military, the problem is also very big, although some Rok troops have fled back one after another, but not everyone will come back to continue to eat food as soldiers. Some deserted, while others died of injuries. The US military said that after the Battle of Tokugawa Ninh won, the ROK 2nd Army had been destroyed, but in the second battle, the total number of annihilations of other troops except the US army in our army was only 12,000, and the ROK 2 corps alone was more than this person.
Therefore, a strange phenomenon has emerged for the losses of the ROK army: the statistics of our army are often smaller than the data of the real losses of the ROK army.
Throughout the Korean War, our army counted more than 393,000 Korean troops annihilated, but the Roks' own statistics far exceeded this figure (even if the losses caused by the Korean People's Army were put aside).
Although the South Korean soldiers ran happily and ran away a lot, after all, it was impossible to say that the volunteers facing the iron foot board left some casualties, and there should still be prisoners.
But even these Korean troops who have not been able to run, their long-distance running ability has been tested in practice.
In November 1952, the Volunteers organized the Multinational Prisoner of War Olympic Games. Since it is multinational, the ethnic origin is very diverse: there are white People from North America and White People from Europe; there are both Indigenous Central Asians and Southeast Asians; and of course, there are black people.
Some of these captives were athletes before joining the army, while blacks had the advantage of long-distance running. But all the medals in the long-distance running event, mind you, I'm talking about all of them, were won by The Korean captives.
Excited Korean captives cheered, and some dressed up in costumes to celebrate the winning athletes.
Therefore, the Korean soldiers in the 1950s, the iron footboard is really not covered.
