Shanghai and Kunshan joined forces to commemorate the 110th anniversary of Ding Shande's birth

Ding Shande (1911-1995), born in Kunshan, Jiangsu Province, is a famous Chinese composer, pianist and music educator.

2021 coincides with the 110th anniversary of Ding Shande's birth, and the "Series of Activities to Commemorate the 110th Anniversary of Mr. Ding Shande's Birth" came in December.

The series of activities is jointly sponsored by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, the Chinese Musicians Association, the Shanghai Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and the Kunshan Municipal People's Government, and jointly organized by the Shanghai Musicians Association, the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, and the Shanghai Music Publishing House Co., Ltd. Will be held in Shanghai and Kunshan.

Ding Shande

The activities in Shanghai are colorful and divided into four major sections.

On December 14th, shanghai conservatory of music will hold the "Ding Shande Piano and Vocal Works Special Concert" at He Luting Concert Hall, performing his piano works "Spring Journey", "Variations on the Theme of Chinese Folk Songs", "Happy Festival", as well as vocal works such as "Lover Sends Me Sunflowers", "Yan'an Night Moon", "Western Yunnan Poetry Banknote" and other classic songs.

On December 15th, the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra will hold the "Ding Shande Symphony Works Special Concert" at the Shangyin Opera House, performing his "New China Symphonic Suite", "Double Concerto for Violin and Cello in C major" and "Long March Symphony".

On December 22, the Shanghai Musicians Association will hold the "Symposium to Commemorate the 110th Anniversary of Mr. Ding Shande's Birth" in the Shanghai Municipal Federation of Literature and Literature, inviting relevant guests and scholars to make keynote speeches to recall Ding Shande's artistic journey and outstanding contributions.

From December 9th to 15th, Shanghai Music Publishing House Co., Ltd. and Kunshan Municipal People's Government will also hold the "Special Documentary Exhibition commemorating the 110th Anniversary of Mr. Ding Shande's birth" in the exhibition hall of Shanghai Municipal Federation of Literature and Literature, exhibiting a brief biography of Ding Shande and precious manuscripts and periodicals.

Kunshan activities include the "Special Documentary Exhibition to Commemorate the 110th Anniversary of Mr. Ding Shande's Birth" held at the Kunshan Printmaking Art Museum from December 20.

Ding Shande once served as vice president of Shanghai Conservatory of Music, director of the Department of Composition, and successively served as vice chairman of the Chinese Musicians Association, vice chairman of the Shanghai Branch of the Chinese Musicians Association (now the Shanghai Musicians Association), president and editor-in-chief of the Shanghai Music Publishing House, and was one of the organizers, witnesses and witnesses of the new Chinese music industry, and his representative works such as "Long March Symphony" and "Xinjiang Dance Music" have endured for a long time, and the "Shanghai Spring" founded by him is still full of vitality.
