At the scene of the event, Chen Ning, director of the Cultural Activities Department of the Beijing Winter Olympics Organizing Committee, delivered a speech and introduced the overall situation of the collection of music works for the Winter Olympics. Han Xinan, secretary of the sub-party group of the Chinese Music Association, vice chairman and secretary general of the Association, read out the list of outstanding musical works for the Third Winter Olympics. Jiang Xiaoyu, vice president of the Beijing Olympic City Development Promotion Association and chairman of the Third Selection Committee, Zhang Heping, special expert of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games and former vice chairman of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and Wang Liguang, president of the China Conservatory of Music and chairman of the Beijing Musicians Association, presented honorary certificates to the creators of the outstanding musical works of the Third Winter Olympics.

The collection of musical works for the Winter Olympics is an important milestone task in the preparation of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games, and is a cultural activity of the Winter Olympics that is warmly concerned by and widely participated in by all sectors of society, and the Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee will hold a collection of musical works once a year from 2019 to 2021, widely attracting people from all walks of life to pay attention to the Winter Olympics, participate in the Winter Olympics, and always maintain the "temperature" of the Winter Olympic cultural activities.

It is understood that the first and second Winter Olympics music works mainly rely on the Beijing Music Radio station for the public collection, a total of 1396 works were collected, led by the Chinese Musicians Association to form a selection committee, the evaluation and selection of 30 excellent songs, 20 excellent lyrics, "Ice and Snow Winter Olympics", "Winter Olympics with me", "2022 to Beijing", "Meet Beijing", "Burning Snowflakes", "Friends from Afar Come to My Home", "Ice and Snow Covenant" and a number of songs stood out, showing the power of dreams, hard work and unity with music. Near the stage of the competition, the Cultural Activities Department of the Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee combined with the time node requirements of the important activities of the Winter Olympics, strengthened the commissioned creation of functional songs, and launched functional songs such as "Together to the Future", "Salute to the Warrior", "Fire of Hope", "See Us in Beijing" and other functional songs around the release of the theme slogan of the Winter Olympics, the award square, the tinder welcome ceremony, and the 100-day countdown theme activities to help the Winter Olympics theme activities.

In order to further improve the quality of the music works of the Winter Olympics and create a strong cultural atmosphere of the Winter Olympics, the collection of music works for the Third Winter Olympics was carried out in the form of targeted commissioning, and the Cultural Activities Department of the Beijing Winter Olympics Organizing Committee, together with Beijing Music Broadcasting, the Chinese Musicians Association and the Film Satellite Channel of the Central Propaganda Department, invited more than 30 famous songwriters to participate in the creation. In addition, the collection office received widely submitted articles from all walks of life, and the Propaganda Department of the Municipal Party Committee also mobilized musicians across the country to select and send outstanding works, and finally, 71 works were included in the selection scope. On November 25, 2021, the Solicitation Office completed the preliminary evaluation of the corresponding works, 31 songs entered the final evaluation, and finally selected 9 outstanding song works of the Winter Olympics, and the list was officially released on the morning of January 25, 2022.
