China Academy of Information and Communications Technology: 35.3 million domestic mobile phones shipped in November, an increase of 19.2% year-on-year

On December 13, the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (hereinafter referred to as "China Academy of Information and Communications Technology") released the "November 2021 Domestic Mobile Phone Market Operation Analysis Report" (hereinafter referred to as the "Report"). According to the data, domestic mobile phone shipments in November were 35.3 million units, an increase of 19.2% year-on-year.

From the overall situation of the domestic mobile phone market, in November 2021, the domestic market mobile phone shipments were 35.252 million units, a year-on-year increase of 19.2%, of which 5G mobile phones were 28.967 million units, a year-on-year increase of 43.9%, accounting for 82.2% of mobile phone shipments in the same period.

From January to November 2021, the overall shipment of mobile phones in the domestic market totaled 317 million units, an increase of 12.8% year-on-year, of which 5G mobile phone shipments were 239 million units, 65.3% longer than the same period, accounting for 75.3% of mobile phone shipments in the same period.

In November 2021, 47 new models of domestic mobile phones were listed, a year-on-year increase of 34.3%, of which 15 were 5G mobile phones, down 16.7% year-on-year, accounting for 31.9% of the number of new models listed in mobile phones in the same period.

From January to November 2021, a total of 427 new models were listed, 3.1% longer than the same period last year, of which 203 were 5G mobile phones, 2.0% longer than the same period, accounting for 47.5% of the number of new mobile phone models listed in the same period.

From the perspective of the composition of domestic and foreign brands in the domestic mobile phone market, in November 2021, the shipment volume of domestic brand mobile phones was 28.041 million units, 23.6% year-on-year, accounting for 79.5% of the mobile phone shipments in the same period; 43 new models were listed, 53.6% year-on-year, accounting for 91.5% of the number of new mobile phone models listed in the same period.

From January to November 2021, the shipment volume of domestic brand mobile phones totaled 275 million units, accounting for 86.7% of the mobile phone shipments in the same period, and the total number of new models listed was 388, an increase of 5.4% year-on-year, accounting for 90.9% of the number of new mobile phone models listed in the same period.

From the perspective of the development of domestic smart phones, in November 2021, the shipment of smart phones was 34.841 million units, an increase of 25.7% year-on-year, accounting for 98.8% of mobile phone shipments in the same period. From January to November 2021, smartphone shipments were 310 million units, an increase of 14.7% year-on-year, accounting for 97.7% of mobile phone shipments in the same period.

In November 2021, 33 new models of smartphones were listed, an increase of 13.8% year-on-year, accounting for 70.2% of the number of new models listed on mobile phones in the same period. From January to November 2021, a total of 358 new models were listed on the market of smart phones, an increase of 11.9% year-on-year, accounting for 83.8% of the number of new models listed in the same period.
