However, few people know that "Dream of the Red Chamber" is actually based on Cao Xueqin herself, describing the rise and fall of his own family; and his family was indeed kangxi's three generations of favored subjects, kangxi six times down to Jiangnan, five of which lived in his home. However, after Yongzheng ascended to the throne, he ruthlessly raided his family, and the giants who had once xuanhe's side only ended up with a "snubbed in the doorway". This matter has to start from Cao Xueqin's grandfather, Cao Yin.
Cao Yin was very favored by Kangxi, although he was not a central official, only serving in the local area, but Jiangnan was a rich land, and Cao Yin was in charge of the two fat differences of Jiangning Weaving and lianghuai salt government, and the Cao family could be regarded as the premier magnate in Jiangnan. Cao Yin was favored not only because Kangxi made six southern tours and lived in his house five times, but also because after Cao Yin was seriously ill, Kangxi actually gave Quining to rush to Nanjing, just to save Cao Yin.

After Cao Yin's death, his eldest son Cao Yan succeeded him to his official position. Cao Yan was raised by Kangxi since childhood, and was very much loved by Kangxi, but unfortunately, at the age of twenty-three, Cao Yan unfortunately died of illness when he went to Beijing to report for duty, and Kangxi heard this bad news and lamented that "none of the heirs in the coat used by Cao Were like others." He also said that he had placed great hopes on him.
After Cao Yan's death, his younger brother Cao Fu (曹頫) again assumed the burden of being the head of the Jiangning Weaving Mansion and was also valued by Kangxi, but one of the three generations of favored subjects of the Cao family did not refer to him, but to Cao Yin's father, that is, Cao Xi and Cao Fu's grandfather, Cao Xi. Cao Xi was instrumental in suppressing the Shaanxi rebellion and transformed the Cao family from a family of military merit into a scholarly mendi.
After Cao Fu ascended the throne, the Cao family was in his hands, ending the position of the head of the Jiangning Weaving House, and in the fourth year of Yongzheng, the Cao family was raided, and Cao Fu disappeared. The reason for the raid on the house sounds quite incomprehensible, and it is actually a harassment of the station. Is this the real reason for ruining the scenery of the three generations of darlings of the Cao family? Of course not. So why? Some people think that Cao Fu is too greedy.
Can you hold the fat gap of Jiangning Weaving House, is it not possible to be greedy? It is unlikely that when Cao Yin reigned, because Kangxi Nan toured his home for the second time, he also moved more than three million taels of silver to subsidize, although they were filled later, but if you want to say that Kangxi did not know, it was certainly impossible, because at that time there were ministers who impeached Cao Yin, and all of them were suppressed by Kangxi.
Cao Yin can be forgiven by Kangxi, and when Cao Fu arrives, he will be questioned by Yongzheng; although it is true that corruption is not right, it can be said that the merits of the Cao family are not so sinful, so what is the reason for the real destruction of the Cao family?
