The 129th Division of the Eighth Route Army was a heroic anti-Japanese detachment, and in the 8-year War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, it annihilated more than 400,000 Japanese and puppet troops and liberated nearly 100 cities.
The 129th Division was able to achieve such brilliant results and has the honor of "being able to fight" because its predecessor was very capable of fighting. The predecessors of its subordinate units were:
I. 385 Brigade
It was reorganized from the 4th Army of the Red Fourth Front. This army has always been the main force of the Red Fourth Front, and has fought many hard and vicious battles with the reactionary army, and the military headquarters has been directly concurrently served by the headquarters of the Red Fourth Front for a long time.
II. 386 Brigade
It was reorganized from the 31st Army of the Red 4th Front. Although this army was formed late in the sequence of the Red 4 Front, it had outstanding military achievements and participated in the Battle of Yinan, the Battle of Xuanda, and the anti-"Six-Way Siege".
3. Teaching Corps
This regiment was composed of the Western Route Army, which had fought a bloody battle with the fierce Majia Army in the desolate Hexi Corridor, and the cadres and fighters of the whole regiment had the courage to swear to fight to the death to the end.
4. Cavalry battalion
Formerly known as the Cavalry Regiment of the Red 15th Army, it soon fought with the Japanese army on the anti-Japanese front, killing and wounding more than 100 Japanese troops. Since then, in a month, two counties have been captured in succession.
In addition to the "predecessor" is very capable of fighting, the 129th Division also has a significant feature: many cadres are from the Red Army from the Long March from Jiangxi. The elites of the two Red Army came together, and the bravery and wisdom were combined and promoted within the 129th Division, which naturally formed the gene of "very capable of fighting".
