From December 13, 2021, discovery international television network broadcast "Exploring the Greater Bay Area Theme Week" in the Asia-Pacific region for one hour a day for seven consecutive days, and the short clip of the Greater Bay Area documentary was broadcast simultaneously on Discovery's US and European channels. Launched by Guangdong Radio and Television and Discovery Media Group, a global leader in documentary entertainment content, the all-media screening of the Greater Bay Area was launched by Guangdong Radio and Television Station and Discovery Media Group, which selected and extracted seven high-quality documentaries to present the image of China's Greater Bay Area to the world with vivid and in-depth stories.

The screening featured seven high-quality documentaries, including "Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge" (documentary film version), "Our Homeland", "Thirteen Elements", "The Taste of Lao Guang", "Beautiful Xijiang", "Manufacturing Era" and "Quarter Circle". From an international perspective, it comprehensively displays the development and achievements of scientific and technological innovation, economy, culture, gastronomy and life in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, enhances the image of the world-class Greater Bay Area, and conveys China's construction strength in the new era.

With the gradual implementation of the blueprint plan for China's Greater Bay Area, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area has received extensive international attention in recent years. This theme week sorted out the levels and dimensions of understanding the strategic significance of the Greater Bay Area for international audiences, focusing on the history, geographical ecology, unique culture, economy and commerce and engineering and manufacturing of the Greater Bay Area, from the stories of some ordinary small people to the history, geography and ecology, unique culture, economy and commerce, as well as engineering and manufacturing, and showed the open, inclusive and vibrant Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area with imagination and perception.

The seven episodes of the documentary have different themes, but all of them highlight the past and present life and vigorous development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area in terms of story theme and spiritual core. "Beautiful Xijiang" panorama shows the ecological civilization and unique beauty of the Main Stream of the Pearl River; "Our Homeland" truly records the story of the people of Guangdong actively exploring the construction of a beautiful homeland with blue sky, green earth, clear water, and sustainable development for future generations, witnessing the achievements of Guangdong's many years of ecological civilization construction; "Thirteen Elements" is China's first historical experiential documentary, the film adopts mascot anthropomorphism, star real-life experience and other forms, based on the history of Guangdong Thirteen Elements, pursuing "one mouth of trade" During the period, the foreign trade footprint of the Thirteen Elements of Guangzhou deeply explored the important influence of the Thirteen Elements on the economy, culture and art of China and the West; "The Taste of Lao Guang" is a large-scale food documentary, which takes food as the carrier, goes deep into the original place of ingredients, and explores the real and vivid daily food of Lao Guang; "Quarter Circle" is a super-burning sports documentary, telling the barbaric growth of a group of baseball teenagers; "Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge" reproduces the construction process of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge project from an international perspective. Focusing on the reasons and significance of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge becoming a great project in the 21st century, "Manufacturing Times" tells the story of the struggle and growth of Dongguan manufacturing practitioners and the participation of manufacturing enterprises in international competition and the products going global during the reform and opening up period.
