In the past 30 years, she has been innovation-oriented, actively carried out original and leading scientific and technological research, conquered key core technologies, presided over a number of major national scientific and technological projects, and successfully developed a variety of fermentation enzyme-producing strains, enzyme preparations and biological products, and a number of microbial technology and new product development results have been applied and promoted.
Many of her achievements are at the forefront of the country. As a major participant, it completed the pilot test and industrialization of the first domestic microbial fermentation α-acetyl lactic acid decarboxylase product, and the "Huamai" brand decarboxylase produced by it obtained the "National New Product" certificate; As the main researcher, he developed the production process of enzymatic conversion of tapioca starch to produce high-purity trehalose, and realized the enzymatic large-scale production of trehalose products for the first time in mainland China.

She became the main builder of the national platform. In 2022, she organized the application for the reorganization of the national laboratory. In April 2023, the National Key Laboratory of Non-food Biomass Energy Technology, jointly established by Guangxi Agricultural Reclamation Mingyang Biochemical Co., Ltd., Guangxi Academy of Sciences, and COFCO Nutrition and Health Research Institute Co., Ltd., was approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China for construction, becoming the first national key laboratory in our region after the reorganization of the State Key Laboratory. She led the organization of the application platform construction project, which was funded by the central government to guide the local science and technology development project and the platform innovation construction project of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission.
In addition, she promoted the joint construction of a wood fiber laboratory with enterprises, and the company funded the construction of the laboratory, which improved the innovation conditions and capabilities of the national platform, which was conducive to the maturation and transformation of scientific and technological achievements.

In 2023, Foshan Haitian (Nanning) Flavor Industry Company took the initiative to find the Academy of Sciences and asked to cooperate with Wang Qingyan. After understanding the needs of the enterprise, she organized scientific research in a short period of time, cooperated with the enterprise to declare scientific and technological projects, jointly built a fermentation engineering center, and set up 4 horizontal projects to carry out research and development, which improved the utilization rate of soy sauce fermentation raw materials and realized the high-value utilization of soy sauce residue.

In order to benefit the people more, she and her team went to Tianlin to investigate the status of the local specialty Badu bamboo shoot industry, which led to the cooperation between Haitian Flavor and local enterprises to develop bamboo shoot processing products and promote the development of local industries.
